Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I didn't make it on my last trip but it was on the list. Ended up stopping in Stuttgart and Munich on the way to Vienna. We'll see if it makes the cut on the next trip... hopefully this July-Aug. Fingers crossed.

That's cool. I've never been to Italy, it's on my list of places to visit.
Last year they were paying people to go there , due to the high number of covid-19 cases.

I love Europe in general but prefer the smaller towns. We've been in Rome for 3 days and have covered a lot.

I was doing some research and will say that I would like to throat punch quite a few people on the Trip Advisor forum. People love fear and to try and scare others. It's been a breeze here. The crazy thing to me is let's be mask nazis but people barely wash their hands for 5 seconds. I've seen numerous people run just water and walk out. I was like ummm.

I'm enjoying Rome but if I look back at other European cities I've visited I just don't love the big cities as much. Last night and tonight we had dinner in the Trastevere area. Much more local and not so touristy. The food overall has been amazing! So fresh and light compared to Italian food/pizza in the US. Tomorrow we are headed to Positano and I can't wait! Here are some pics.

Me too, you also get the best traditional food in the small towns/villages.
I pay attention to the Trip Advisor reviews, but I also have been to places that the reviews were terrible and I had a great time. Sometimes people make it more than what it is. The pics look awesome, it looks like you are having a good time, enjoy it, I`m jealous

Here are several pictures of a country with 168,000 lakes. The rest is forest and wilderness as well as fields.
In summer, the sun shines in the middle of the night. The crazy BMW people of also live here. I have photographed all the photos myself.

Today we're doing Mt Vesuvio and Pompeii. We will also visit towns along the Amalfi Coast. We try not to plan every little detail. Flexibility in travels has ended us with some cool experiences we weren't planning on. On this leg of the trip, we're looking to be a little more chill. We hit it hard in Rome but were able to see a lot.

Last time we were in Europe we flew into Paris. We had the first 3 nights booked but didn't know where we were going from there. We were thinking south of France over to Spain. We ended up in a Venice exhibit in Paris and our route changed. We went Paris-Strasbourg-Zurich-Chur-Tirano-Milan-Venice.

M5Rick we went to the Vatican yesterday. It is an enormous place. It was neat to see the highlight and I'm sure we saw only a fraction of the galleries. Art is not really my thing. We did a tour so learning the history behind a lot of what we saw was very helpful. It was a nice time but wouldn't have to go back.

Same here, once you see it within the two mile long Vatican City border it's done unless you return for a Church service.
