I ordered R&T and was sent Dedicated Track and want to see if I should exchange them or if I should try out the Dedicated Track. My car is a weekend car, but not a track car, I generally use for road trips and spirited driving

Saw Slicer's video on the differences and interesting that the rear is that much shorter. Having camber plates included is nice

Thanks

I went from track day kit to dedicated track. Never ran R&T. I wouldn’t go more aggressive than the track day kit for a street car. Dedicated is fairly stiff.

I went from R/T to dedicated track. You can definitely feel a difference in street comfort on the R/T's vs the dedicated. Dedicated Tracks arent terrible on the street but the step up in spring rates you can feel. If ride comfort is more important to you the R/T's are going to be better.

Thanks for the feedback slcook54 and kevin @ eas. The spring rates are pretty high on the Dedicated Track. I'll exchange them for the R&T since my car is a street car. Was just so tempted to put these on since they're right in front of me haha

Dedicated track kit is great. I've been running it for 1.5 years now and I love it. They handle great and honestly, they're not bad on the street.

I had R&T on my e46 but ended up switching the springs to swift springs so they felt pretty comparable to these.. The shocks are better on the dedicated kit though. I can tell especially driving fast with imperfections on the road and the vehicles stability.

I recently installed the Ohlins Dedicated Track kit. I'd like to share some observation so far and seek some advice on settings.

My car is E90 M3 Comp. Ohlins' recommended height settings appeared to be way off. The front was much higher than rear (reverse rake). I moved the front height adjuster all the way up while maintaining the spring preload. The front is about 25mm lower than the recommended default. I also raised the rear by about 15mm from the recommended default to create about 10mm rake. Would like to know your height settings.

For rebound adjustments, Ohlins recommends 9 clicks front / 15 clicks rear for track use. That's a fairly soft (fewer clicks == firm). I'd love to hear your input on track settings.

Thanks!

You have to do your own height adjustments I felt the same way that their recommendations were way off and looked silly.

Setting preload is super important. Also, I’m currently running 6 clicks back from fullstiff upfront and 8 clicks from stiff on the rear.

Turn everything to full stiff, drive it around the block for a minute to get a feel then dial back to your comfort level.

1FastSicilian Thanks for chiming in!

I'm currently running 15 clicks from fullstiff front and back for street. The suspension is firmer than stock ZCP but compliant enough.

I will go to Streets of Willow in a week and run Toyo R888R. The car is otherwise stock outside of Ohlins. Since it's going to be the first time at the track with this setup I'm curious what initial settings I should start with. I'm thinking 5 front and 7 rear from fullstiff. Any input is appreciated!

That’s a good starting point, from there you can adjust as your day goes on. I keep the notebook they provided in my car with a journal of what settings I ran on at which track along with tire pressure.

You’ll enjoy these coilovers.
