Ohlins vs ST XTA vs Fortune 510 input needed!

Hello everyone,

I need to refresh the suspension on my 2008 dual duty M3.

The past 4 years I've had Ohlins R&T on the car which have covered 40k miles and about 30 track days and the fronts are leaking and in need of rebuild.

My three options are the following since I dont really want to spend more than 4k at the moment.

1. ST XTA and source my own Swift Springs before install

2. Fortune 510 with upgraded Swift Springs 8k/10k

3. Remove my tired Ohlins R&T and send them to 3DM to convert them to their track spec kit and add camber plates

My E92 mostly is kept in storage with maybe 1 or 2 track days a year and 2-3k miles added as I live on the opposite coast from where the car is kept.

Next planned event is June 15th at Palmer Motorsports Park so timeline is unrealistic to have the rebuilt Ohlins back with enough time to install/corner balance & align. Currently leaning towards option 1 and once Ohlins are out, send them out to get rebuilt. Granted that service will run roughly what the other two options cost outright but I am sure I can resell the ST's for some money back.

Any input on any of the above options is greatly appreciated!

-Bilstein Clubsport kit is a contender as well. But price a little too closely to MCS 1wnr to justify.

You already have the best street suspension setup. Just get the Ohlins rebuilt. It's also probably the cheapest option.

+1 for Ohlins. I owned the ST XTA and it doesn't compare to the Ohlins. If you want something better for performance selling the Ohlins will cover a good chunk of MCS 1 way coils
