Car felt great all day! Until the rotors quit... I get a hand massage through the vibrating steering wheel on the way home though!

Hitting the happy hour at Tarpy's. Fantastic stuff. Another great day in the books with speed district.

Fortunately, I have a set at home. Didn't do me any good there, and I had to sit the last sesh out.
Enjoying some wine and the fantastic food.

I’ve had that happen to a rotor once. Made my drive home interesting.

I was actually contemplating going out for another session, but once it fully cooled, the crack got bigger and I used better judgement. Four cracks on the passenger side (one on the inner side), and two on the driver's side I think.

Thanks. There is definitely room for improvement.
I say the same thing all the time- it's not me, it's the car.

I have another friend like that.
He kept saying when he reaches a PB target he'll spring for suspension.
Driver improvement came first.

DCT limp mode today, was clunking in prior sessions and acting funny before the session where I got limp mode.

Carly read:
<===========================>
3. Transmission Control:
<--------------------------->
Transmission / Getriebe GS 19:
- Fault: :Coupling 1: incorrect pressure
- Code: 005A44
- Fault: :Pressure sensor coupling 1: Total Failure
- Code: 005A41

What's the deal on the metal DCT oil pans? Slonik or Gintani ones worth getting? I want to flush fluid, and try upgrading to a metal pan while I'm at it. Also, is there a recommended upgrade from OEM DCT fluid? Then if I still get problems, I'll try the do88 cooler.

waow nice PB!

How much of the difference did you feel came from new aero (front lip, wing) vs. the slicks? Big gain from last time I met you at laguna seca!

Cool - I need to get out there again. I finally got the M3 on track a couple months ago and did a 1:46 which I was happy with, though I was taking it pretty easy as her first run out (had traction set to MDM, didn’t turn it off, and running RE71R tires). The aero looks good - I’m not sure how much more modding I’m gonna do tho now since I have the new car. Gonna try to bring both to the next Laguna day.

Thanks!

S.

I like the Slonik design better with the baffling and extended oil pickup.
Plus the cooling fins look much better. (Deeper and thinner)

I haven't heard of any fluids proven to be better than OE.

Thank you. Did it look like the Gintani one doesn't have that baffling? I am really starting to think it isn't heat problems but rather the starvation. (baffling to help)

Edit: pulling trigger on Slonik part, shame I can't wait for the group buy price. I don't want to track my car with all this clunking and more limp mode!

I agree and am definitely going Slonik once I get there, awesome product!

I completely agree and I would extend that thought further to say that I think almost all of our DCT's are likely spewing small amounts of fluid each time we track them, which could very well contribute and be the main cause of the issues folks have noted.

I have been chasing the fluid spew/leak issue with my DCT for some time. Read through this thread for example, LINK, my posts start on page 7. I tried and am still trying the SSP Viton gaskets though I think a Slonik lower pan AND side pan (they are working on this) will be the ultimate and complete solution. In the meantime I highly suspect that the Slonik lower pan and an occasional top off will solve your issues.

Another data point, I have been driving my car at COTA with the full DCT tune in S6 (90ms shifts) and haven't had a single hiccup yet. Now that I've said that ...

I am still running street tires though, so perhaps I will see some issues once I switch to slicks, tbd.

dogbone curious if you are planning to go Slonik also?

For those using a GT4 lip with brake ducts, do the brake ducts interfere with the underbody corner pieces? I don’t even have the brake ducts routed to the rotors yet, but I cannot get the corner triangle pieces in currently.
