New to Me Santorini

Excited to add another M to the family. Currently own a 2006 Interlagos Blue M3. Has served as my weekend / track car for the past few years.

Car has been extensively gone through including all necessary maintenance bits to "bulletproof" the major components (outside of rod bearings).

Always wanted an M3 collection and after a year stint with an F80 on a lease I decided I needed to get that beautiful V8. Only could be one color though and that is Santorini Blue.

Motivated by MFatuations car that came to the shop back in 2012 for a number of modifications, having never heard of the color I was stunned and fell in love. After aiding in the install of some proper parts I heard the first start up on the titanium exhaust and knew I had to have one.

Here we are 7 years later and I now own a beautiful low mileage 2012 Car with a terrific list of parts.

Exhaust: Akrapovic Evolution Full Exhaust
Wheels: Volk TE37SL in Super Lap Black (For Sale)
Suspension: Ohlins Road & Track w/ Vorshlag Camber Plates
Engine: BPM Sport Tune
Transmission: GTS Tune
Front end Paint Protection Film

Don't know what number of this spec exist in the world but I'm extremely happy so far. A totally new experience from the E46 which I was afraid there would be some redundancy.

Nice collection!

There are 22 Santorini E92s total produced regardless of spec.

I agree. The E46 is a a more connected car to me. It also has more "manageable power" that your'e able to wind out to the top and enjoy every morsel of the S54.

This S65 is such a beautiful motor. So smooth and silky in it's delivery. Can't get enough of the downshifts.

Thank you! Looking to grow this to another ///M soon. Guess I'll be a Bimmer guy instead of a Porsche guy. Cost me a lot less too.

Was a fun process. Went over my "top" number but am so happy now. Especially with the modifications I would have done anyway.

I agree! The color is super stunning. Every time I walk up to the car I can't believe it's mine.

Yes, first time in Utah. Was such an amazing trip back. Zion National Park is a treasure. Everyone must go just once.

Beautiful car and color!

How do you like the Ohlins? Do they feel like they have enough spring rate under them for serious performance?

Only had the car in the canyon so far. So far I'm pleased with the ride quality and the dampers ability to control the car under load. Car isn't as crisp as the E46 turn in and feel. Still feels heavier and a bit more floaty (comparing -2.2 Camber to -3.2 camber is tough). I will eventually get out on track to give the ohlins a proper shake down.

Currently enjoying the lack of a jarring ride at lower speed with my MCS don't seem to handle as well on the E46.

OE Splitters and OE Performance Spoiler go on this week. Wheels I'm still debating but leaning towards BBS RIA in Diamond Black or the new APEX EC7R which I will have done in a tinted brushed.

What's not perfect is the 6 month lead time. May have to try the gold on for a bit.

Those are 2 absolutely gorgeous cars, congratulations.

I went with an M collection the past couple of years, but the Porsche itch is real. Currently have an E92 M3, Z4M Roadster and E36 M3, all MT (and a Toyota Tundra DD).

I thought about just imploding my fleet and sell everything minus the truck for a 911, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. The E92 is my first M car and is still to this day one of my favorite BMW's (my combo is unusual too). I've had it since 2011.

I'm toying with the idea of selling the other 2 for a Tundra, E92 M3 and 981 Porsche Boxster Spyder combination. Or maybe Tundra, E92 M3, Z4M (love top down driving) and 991.1 C2S.

Oh the joys of being a car guy.

I too use a truck (Ram) for Daily use.

The 981 Spyder is awesome. Friend had one with LWB's and the Burmeister system. Spent a full weekend road tripping it from La to Monterey and back and was shopping for that or a GT4 in Carmine Red.

Highly recommend.
