That is really, really awful and i hope whomever did that to your m3 meets a grizzly demise. However, dont let those bastards keep you down. I hope you can take the insurance money and put it towards something awesome that helps mend your wounded soul, even if its not another m3.

Absolutely gut wrenching to see this post. I work not too far away from where this happened and its pretty well known to locals as a shady area but you don't hear about things at the level as this car went through.
OP, we all have lost something in life that is dear to us, but don't let it get to you. We only have one life and as car guys, we should enjoy whatever moments we have with the cars that are special to us, although this may have been short lived keep your drive going for another car when the time is right... |

Sorry to hear about your lost, I can definitely relate to your pain, my freshman year in college, my prized Honda prelude at the time was stolen and stripe from All of my mods!!! I was devastated, however after many years of learning to accept life challenges, I continue to be a car enthusiast and moved on with life. Stay positive and never give up. wish you the best of luck.

I have had a car stolen and stripped/ destroyed and 2 others broken into with alot of damage so I feel your pain. If your a true auto enthusiast at heart this won't stop you from building a car again assuming you have the financial ability.

To think another human being could care so little about others. One day as they are standing in court for something... they will tell the judge how remorseful they are. When in reality their only remorse will be that they got caught. Didn't cattle rustling come with a death sentence back in the day? How is this any different?

Sorry to see this, but if you enjoy the car then don't let some fools ruin it for you. It sucks to see something you work hard for end up like that, I can imagine. Good luck on the next toy, hopefully you will be back in an E9x M3 because it looks like you got good taste in modding it.

Def agree, they happen to see the car and have a or access to a tow truck. They saw the opportunity and jumped right on it, It really sucks but I hope it truly doesn’t deter you from getting something you’ll love in the near future OP.

Sorry for your lost bro, I saw your car parked on the side of the road that day right by the New Carrollton exit like you said. I live not too fare from Rt 50 near New Carrollton and pretty much know all the local E9X M3's in that area. I was heading towards DC cruising heavy but slowed down near a turn where state troopers are known to hide out when I noticed your car on the other side of the road.
It looked so dam good just sitting there, I was even contemplating turning around at the next exit on Rt. 202 to get a better look at the car and give another M3 driver a helping hand. Since I was moving so fast I decided to just proceed onto DC especially since I didn’t see anyone in or outside the car. That Kenilworth Avenue area has no less than 6 junkyards and like 20 tow yards within an 1/2 mile radios so I’m not surprise that’s where the car was found. I feel your pain bro but don’t get discourage, stuff like this unfortunately happen to good people. Hope you get in another M3 someday, nothing beats the 9X platform. |

If you care about your car why leave it there for so long? I could think of at least 2-3 better options for a car I care about not to leave it there.
You could have called a tow truck You could have called someone to get you the spare tire and jack Could have asked a friend to pick you up and stay there while you come back etc |

Man that sucks. I feel for ya. But it's important to remember it's just a car.
I once pulled into my condo garage, dropped the key on the way to the elevator, and within 5 minutes of me realizing that and retracing my steps, it was picked up by a neighbor. A few days later that neighbor took the car. It was found weeks later in another city, largely untouched other than a few more miles on it. It was a lease so I just reclaimed it and turned it in. Insurance made me whole on any limited damage there was. It sucked, I felt violated, it was a f*ing neighbor who stole my car (I proved to the police exactly who it was, and they didn't care). But, life goes on. |

Damn, as an enthusiast seeing those pictures it makes me cringe so badly. Of course its just a bunch of metal and rotating assembly, but most create a strong bond with every single drive they have in their M. I feel for you brother, I don't doubt for one second that you didn't work your tail off for that ride. Keep your head up.

Man that looks as thought they stripped it for a specific build, maybe even swapping a 335/328 or something. Not a lot of use of rear quarters in my opinion. This blows, no other way to put it. Sorry brother
