OEM 2 pipe exhaust mod with test pipes, do you recommend it?

I am looking for some insight as to how the 2 pipe exhaust mod (perforated method) will sound with a primary cat delete? I currently have a high flow cat x pipe with no primaries and I have booked for my muffler to have this mod done next week. I just want to make sure this is the right setup for me.

How does the oem 2 pipe mod sound with this combo, is it raspy? Does it drone at all at cruising speeds around 3k rpm?

When I was getting the car prepped to sell, I put the OEM mod exhaust back on the car with test pipes and it didn't really have any drone. It definitely was not as loud as my previous setup (test pipe w/ meisterschaft GT). It felt a bit too quiet for my taste.

I have AA test pipes and OEM mod. I don't hear any drone. @3500 it gets a little raspy (i love it) because it settles down by 4500 and if you are on highway cruising it sounds stock, slight rumble - until you hit it, then it wakes the &*% up!

I can take a sound clip if you want - let me know.

Yes a sound clip would be great. Yours is the 2 pipe mod?

I just went back to this setup after an Eisenmann Race with test pipes. After the Eisenmann, this has very minimal drone to me and really only noticeable at around 2k rpm. I will say that even though it sounds very tame from inside there car, in my case it's actually MUCH louder from outside especially wide open at higher RPMs. All of my friends commented on this, I don't think any of us were expecting a volume increase lol.

I just recently switched to my exhaust and put the OEM mod back on to see what it would sound like with test pipes.......2 days later switched it right back to my megan. no drone but it was too high pitched and raspy for me. Very mild at low RPMs just like stock. The mod sounds better with cats. But thats just me, I prefer a deeper bassy note.

Thank you! Love it sounds amazing going to do it. I wonder if it will sound slightly different with my high flow cat x pipe compared to test pipes and stock x pipe.

I just got the two pipe exhaust mod done today and it is the perfect combination with my X pipe, less raspy than with the stock unmodded muffler! Hardly any drone (maybe just a slight bit of exhaust noise at 2k rpms cruising? I highly recommend this. I'll post some clips soon.

I bought my car with test pipes and OEM mod done and it really is the best of both worlds. Quiet(enough) when putting around and pretty loud when on the gas. Always get compliments.

My next setup will be resonated x pipe with Eisenmenn Race.
