20" on M3 in NYC?

Hi Guys,

I see a lot of people have 20" wheels on their M3. I'm scared to do so since I live in NYC, and even 19's seem to push it for me (I've bent the hell out of 19" IForged Wheels I had back in the day)

I plan on getting BBS's and was hoping to get 18" or 19" for street/track, and wanted a comfortable ride while rolling around the city with EDC set on softest setting while cruising. I saw a nice deal for 20" wheels but it scares the heck out of me. I know BBS's are strong but I'm more worried about my arse hurting along the bumpy roads. I live literally 1-2 minutes outside of Manhattan, and mostly drive around Queens and the Bronx (I work here will be using my daily driver in Bronx)

How comfortable are your 20" Wheels? Let me rephrase that...How comfortable are your 20" wheels on the sh1ttiest roads in your area?

Yeah I am debating if I should get the car with the stock 18's or go with the competition 19's. Might order tomorrow. I was planning on buying 18 or 19" BBS's for it but I may just stick with the stocks for a while.

If you get 20's be sure to go with something forged and strong. I have not had any problems with mine in MN but 19's or 18's are certainly a safer option when it comes to pot holes. I honestly did not notice a huge difference in comfort between my 20's and the oem 18's with snow tires. Maybe its due to the tires on my 18's???

If you're talking potholes then any wheel will be uncomfortable or stressful to drive with. With the 20"s I've driven my car all over the city, Queens, and Brooklyn. I can honestly say, with EDC in comfort mode (I also have rd sport springs) the ride is pretty good. I'm sure the Michelin PS2 tires might have something to do with it as well.

But then again this is all subjective. I might put my wheels back on if they don't sell. If you want when I do we can meet up and I'll take you for a drive so you can be the judge if they're for you or not.
