Gotta love the folks that point out that if someone doesn't like something they aren't original.

Nice lineup! Great looking cars...except the M roadster. I come from the VW/Audi scene where people are more open to a different look. But like the rest are saying, this is an example where it doesn't work with the car.

lol, this saying comes to mind:

The Z3 Roadster is either love it or hate it.
The fitment is great, with a huge ass lip. Also they are 12'' wide, the owner loves it, along with his other 4-5 wheel setups.
But feel free to keep sharing your opinion.

An epic line for you: "Foot wide b**ches, suck on his 12 inches"

The MW ZCP was picked up a few days ago, it will probably be 'ruined' (your words not mine) soon too.

One needn't modify their own automobile to have taste in automobile modification. Few film critics are directors. Few food critics are chefs. I'm neither director, chef, nor automobile tuner, but my taste is good enough to know that the combination of baby moons and a late model BMW is a juxtaposition that no sane automobile design critic would endorse.

This is not to say he shouldn't do it. By all means, drive what you like, but I won't withhold my opinion.

Self proclaiming ones self to be of superior taste, is in itself distasteful. One needn't offer ones opinion, for those that do in such nature, may have only dreamt that yee is of such stature.

However, I shall not endeavour to right such wrongs or alter ones opinion. They shall be as they may, just as I shall be.

To recap, it is your position that positive comments are welcome and negative feedback is forbidden. Yes? If this is the case, please clearly mark your threads in the future so we know where we can and can not speak our minds.

As for constructive criticism, it is my humble opinion that 5/6 of these vehicles should be parted out. You know which ones.

Imagination is also the determining factor in kindergarten. Is that was M3Post has become? I certainly hope not.

There are two types of people who modify their cars. People who modify for themselves and people who modify for others. This thread is littered with people who make modification decisions like the former but have the sensitivity level of the latter. If the driver of that red sneaker put 12" wide wheels on because he/she likes them, why is he/she hurt when others voice their disapproval? Clearly he/she thought to him or herself when purchasing said wheels, "Hmm. Haters gonna hate."

Do you only wear khakis and a white button up shirt? Tell me, how boring of a human being are you?

It perplexes me that someone who only likes stock vehicles is surfing the photos section of an online for where 90% of cars are modded. Your mere presence in this section doesn't make sense and you seem extremely confused and have no idea what you're rambling on about. According to you: aftermarket wheels and lowering ruins a vehicle. According to you, the vast majority of the cars on this forum are ruined. I can't even call that logic, that's just pure stupidity.

I appreciate the effort to elevate the level of discourse, but I think you may have overshot the mark. Nothing about my language is in the 17th century style. I try to use precise language so that the reader can understand what I'm thinking. I avoid the use of "you" as an indefinite pronoun because it can come across as accusatory. Instead, I use the pronoun "one". I'm sorry if that comes across as uppity to you, but my intent is not to use inaccessible language.

How are we to have a discussion about taste without asserting that anyone's taste is better than the other? This isn't summer camp where everyone gets a trophy. Some decisions are good, some are bad. I enjoy a good debate over the design of an automobile, so I'll continue, even if you are content to mock my language.

In my opinion, the design inspiration for the M Roadster draws from cars like the 1930's BMW 328 roadster. While the fenders are blended, they're shapely, and follow a curved flow that is distinct from the somewhat inset body panels. The wheel arches and rocker flow together, suggesting the appearance of running boards. The kidney grills are narrow and are given an upright appearance by the hood-lines that further the visual separation of the fenders.

If we're looking for an uncommon choice of wheel, why not follow those lines? Cars of the type and period that the M Roadster draws from had two types of wheels: wire and steel dish type (sometimes with lightening holes). The baby moons on this car are similar, but they have too much of an American hot rod look, IMO. They remind me of the kind of wheels you'd see on a 1930's Ford. I suppose that would make this car a design inspiration mash-up of American ideas from a similar time period to the continental cars of that time.

That's my take. It's not that I think they're ugly wheels. I think they're pretty cool wheels. I just think their application on an M Roadster is out of place.
