Garage List
2010 BMW M3  [0.00]
Washed and filled up with V-Power. Took wife and kid on a short trip. Wife commented how much smoother the Ohlins are (20 clicks open). Kid went to sleep for an hour in his car seat. Lowered the adjustment on the headlights. I didn't hit redline

Got scratched by some retard at the parking lot. Bad luck considering I had both bumpers redone last June

I'm only hoping that this is just a clear coat scratch and can be polished off by a good detailer.

Tune is super simple to install, just request which map you want to start with before hand and follow the instructions. I did the full back up and loaded mine in less than an hour.
Alex did the DCT flash a couple days later in about 30 min.

Averaged +4mpg (22.5 avg) with a new drop-in today vs the old OEM charcoal filter. Pretty surprised by the mpg gains...

Picked her up from the dealership today after two LONG weeks. My SA was able to get my warranty to cover my rod bearing service at BMW (metal shavings found during oil change). All $6,245 (including an OFHG leak that was found during the service) was covered by my warranty I just hit one full year of ownership with $14,801.74 spent on maintenance and repairs. whew...

You will definitely need to expand on this and provide some additional information about the rod bearings. Many of us will be interested in BMW's thoughts on rod bearings and whether or not they see it as an issue for the S65?

Both these should last about a day or two after install. Painted ignition coil cover while attempting 2nd repair on post bracket, slightly higher temp rated epoxy used. Also painted face of wheels nuts.

I hit 60,000 miles and had the weeping valve cover gaskets replaced, $880 at Delta V Motorsports in Richmond (half the quoted price of nearby Brand X indy shop). Summary verdict of the grizzled mechanic: "Your engine looks damn near perfect."

Installed these turner monoballs and went for a drive. Steering feels fantastic, no added NVH so far so good. Hopefully they hold up as I've heard they can be prone to failure.

All within the last month and a half.

Oil change
Macht schnell filter clean
replaced overly worn factory steering wheel with used factory wheel found on the forums.
Alex Alpine ECU tune, stage 1 currently 93 octane
Plans for this weekend include installing Macht Schnell x-pipe and contacting alex for stage 2 tune!

This is by far my favorite car I've ever owned, way better than my 16 F80 and 18 F80 comp pkg car.

Do you feel significant difference? I’m thinking about Alpine time and DCT...just wondering if it’s worth spending $1k for them

I think there are some spots left on the group purchase discount at a great price. I am very happy with my 93 stage 1 tune and my DCT tune!

Had another 2 M3s at my house last night. Also drove to a city called Squamish with 3 friends because the friend with an Aston wanted a cheap manual car for his garage
