Found it

Okay, so I have a Mini Clubman on the way, but thought that you all would like to know where the ship is, as we are sharing a ride.

Currently in Baltimore. Should be headed to SC shortly.

http://mobile.vesseltracker.com/mobi...=6&minus=-#map

You can download vesseltracker.com's google earth app and find it, or use the mobile link. (FYI the mobile app is current, google earth is upto 24 hr delay)

Either way good news.

Anyway, there you go.

Anybody know if the vessel will be delayed because of the storm off the Carolina coast ?

I also noticed it went to Jacksonville first rather then Charlston was this because of the storm?

Must be. I can't think of another reason why it would bypass Charleston. This can't be good....I'm checking with my CA.

CA just got a report confirming that the ship is still scheduled to arrive Charleston tomorrow.

This is strange, would such a large boat have to go all the way to FL to avoid the storm?

I'll be super if the boat is delayed....

Charleston, SC

... GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...

A GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT.

OFFSHORE LOW PRESSURE WILL INTENSIFY AND ADVANCE TOWARD THE CAROLINA COAST TODAY. THIS LOW WILL COMBINE WITH STRONG HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED NORTH OF THE REGION TO PRODUCE GALE FORCE WINDS ACROSS THE SOUTH CAROLINA NEARSHORE COASTAL WATERS THROUGH THIS EVENING.

AS THE LOW DEEPENS OVER THE GULF STREAM TODAY... NORTHERLY WINDS WILL CONTINUE AT SPEEDS OF 25 TO 35 KNOTS WITH GALE FORCE GUSTS UP TO 45 KT WELL OFF THE CHARLESTON COUNTY COAST. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING AND WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS SEAS AS HIGH AS 9 TO 11 FEET ACROSS THE NEARSHORE COASTAL WATERS.

AFTER LOW PRESSURE PUSHES ONSHORE LATE TONIGHT... WINDS WILL DIMINISH AND BECOME MORE OFFSHORE IN DIRECTION WITH SEAS EXPECTED TO SUBSIDE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A GALE WARNING MEANS SUSTAINED WINDS OR FREQUENT GUSTS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. OPERATING A VESSEL IN GALE CONDITIONS REQUIRES EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS.

I don't want my new car bouncing around in 20 FT sea's. It has already been delayed for one day!

Just my thought!

It's not that the ship can't handle the storm, it's the cargo I'd be worried about when the ship hits 10'+ swells. It's happened before -- rough enough seas will cause the cars to break loose and toss around inside this ship. Kinda like throwing around a steel box with china inside. The steel box will be fine. The china will not.

You've waited this long...you can hold out an extra day or two.

Does anyone know if the delay to the 26th already accounts for the storm as the ship was originally scheduled to arrive on the 25th. Or will this delay the boat even further?

Captain Scott and TLud, in that case, I can wait a few more days.

Sure beats having to wait while the car is repaired at VPC or having to wait for a new one.

I knew about the delay two days ago. The only thing I do not know is if there is going to be a further delay because of the storm. The vessel is just sitting there waiting to dock in FLA and who knows when it might show up in Charleston.

I would rather wait an extra day or so then to find out my car was damaged in transit!

You make excellent points. This is what happens if you don't wait:
