I don't know if it's real but if it is, it was clearly filmed in reverse.

watching him when I was a kid was one of the reasons that got me into the martial arts all those years ago. I train for different reasons nowadays, but he was one of my first inspirations for taking it up.
Looks like he's still got it! lol

I think it was filmed as shown. At around 40 seconds the pants drop from the shoe. If it was filmed in reverse wouldnt the pants make a crease on the shoe?

Oh well, nice commercial anw

Good point. Those drivers are damn good if they're really going in reverse.

I think they did it reverse so trucks don't run over him, if he falls.

Was it not filmed to demonstrate the Volvo dynamic steering? As in, the ability to perhaps reverse with a trailer as shown in the video?

Okay, i want to believe it was filmed in reverse because I do not care how good the steering is the trailer will always want to track straight when you turn. I grew up around tractor trailers since my dad drove them. He could back them straight over a good distance but as soon as you make turn the trailer still want to track straight so you have to over steer to get to turn. I am wondering if they have some sort of system in the trailer themselves to help, otherwise I say BS on them riving in reverse.

Okay, looking at the video again, only the driver on the left is moving, he is following lines on the roadway, the right truck has a guy in the passenger seat and he too is watching the lines on the road. So may be they did it.

Your dad would have noticed that there is only one tractor trailer in the video.

A three axle trailer will want to go straight. I believe that the only trickery afoot here is the apparent speed. At very least the angle makes it look like it is going fast, I suspect they sped it up too. Trucks go painfully slowly in reverse (unless you can get them into highrange, but that is very unlikely) like walking pace or slower.

If you go to the actual Youtube page it says they did it in reverse in the description.

Watch Jean-Claude Van Damme carry out his famous split between two reversing trucks. Never done before, JCVD says it's the most epic of splits -- what do you think? Please share & comment!

This live test was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering -- a world first technology that makes the new Volvo FM easier to drive.

Filmed in Spain on a closed-off landing field at sunrise in one take.
Directed by Andreas Nilsson
Soundtrack by Enya: Only Time

This.

The whole video is likely real and was shot while the trucks are going in reverse. But.... the only tractor trailer in the video is going straight back without any steering adjustments. And as stated above, a 3 axel trailer want's to go straight. The vehicle on viewer's left, is a box truck with a ladder frame which is attached to the rear axels. That's why that one is the one that does the steering adjustments.

By no means does that take away from the size of testies needed to do this stunt. I do wonder if there was a net below him which was 'shopped out frame by frame in the same way a photo rig is 'shopped out of pics.

Good Catch... I didn't see that the first time, I was too busy watch him not the trucks. Okay a box truck could do what they did... I am believing a little bit more.
