Looking forward to being able to really open her up again here soon. The car is just such a different animal above 5k rpm..
Most likely the plugs, I noticed a huge smoothness difference when I did them!

The S65 is very sensitive to plugs I guess

Put in another 150 miles or so Sunday morning. Really enjoying these Sunday drives with cheap gas and empty roads. That 150 puts me over my voluntary 500 mile break in period on the rod bearings. Going to change the oil this weekend and let her rip! Can't wait to get back up to redline, has taken a lot of self control up to this point.

Continued honing my detailing process as well capped off by a Chemical Guys Butter Wax application. Hard to do the shine any justice with my poor garage lighting but this paint looks spectacular. Planning on doing a wheels-off cleaning this weekend followed by a ceramic coating of the wheels to aid in the endless battle against brake dust. Also bought some Chem Guys VRP, figured I'd give the wheel wells a good cleaning and coat all of the exposed exterior plastics.

Lastly, trying to move forward with some coding courtesy of Alex @ Alpine - particularly Euro MDM and 8,500 rpm redline among some other little features.

Completed the tune on Friday over lunch. 8,500 rpm redline, Euro MDM along with some other goodies. Hit 8,500 for the first time over the weekend and heard angels sing. There's nothing like this motor.

Fresh oil change over the weekend as well after my 500 mile voluntary break in on the bearings. All my quarantine maintenance/tune up work is now complete - spark plugs, rod bearings, motor mounts, fresh oil, injector cleaner. Should be good to go for the next 5k. I have a power steering flush kit sitting around that I'll likely do after my next track day later in the year.

Celebrated her 8th birthday yesterday with a nice sunset drive down some new Tampa Bay back roads. Sucks the production date of this car coincides with love bug season down here in Florida.. Had to spend 20 minutes after the drive removing said bugs. Looks like part two of the birthday will be a full wash this weekend!

Full bore for the birthday

Spent my Memorial Day doing some deep cleaning of the ///M. First wheels-off cleaning I've ever done and man is it time consuming. Results speak for themselves though! She's a happy camper. Also took some VRP to the front and back bumper grills, hood vents, gas cap compartment and any exposed plastics I could find. Went over all rubber seals with silk shine as well. May have gone a little OCD but we've officially reached a new level of clean. Threw some hybric ceramic wax on the 359s as well. No idea if it will help but can't hurt.

Looks nice and clean! Did you use VRP in the wheel wells or something else?

VRP. After a heavy cleaning of degreaser, rust remover, and soap and water. Stuff works like magic.

Awesome - thanks. I'd be curious to know how long it keeps the wheel well looking fresh. Been thinking about it for tire and/or engine dressing at some point, too

I'm not sure how it would work for tire dressing. For the engine bay and interior I use their Silk Shine product. Frankly I'm not sure what the difference is as both say exterior and interior applications but I think it's a bit less heavy than the VRP and dries to a matte finish. I used the VRP on any exposed exterior plastics and rubber as well. I've used it on the faded fender liners on my F-150 and its lasted for 3 washes now.

Man it looks so pristine! Makes me want to clean out my wheel wells. My car is never driven in inclement weather so I'd like to believe they'll stay relatively clean for quite some time lol.

Haha thanks man! Honestly it took forever and I still could have probably spent a couple of more hours on it but I'm the same way. Car never sees rain or snow so I'm hoping this holds up. The VRP seems to hold up pretty well in my experience. Not very confident about the hybrid cyramic wax I used on the wheels but we'll see.
I'm sure one track day will bring me right back to where I started..

Thank you!! I was initially after a Silverstone car like yours but couldn't pass up this spec. So happy with it. SG takes on a different personality in different lighting.

New update

Upgraded the sorry OEM pedal set with a gorgeous set from Pedal Haus. Very high quality fit, and finish. Really helps add to the interior - more happy with these than I expected. I took the time while in there to run through a thorough interior detail w/ vacuum, silk shine, and leather cleaner/conditioner.

New pedals before/after:

Some interior shots after cleaning:

Added a little Space Fox touch as well. Will see if I keep it.

Lastly, got to steal my buddies M4 for the weekend as he needed my truck for a move. I've definitely gained more respect for the platform having some more seat time in it. The low end torque is addicting and that is in stock form. I'm sure with intake, tune, etc it is downright lethal. I do enjoy the thrust of a good turbo set up. Great looking car as well! The sound needs some major help and the feel of the car is blah in general to me. It does handle very well, as expected - the chassis is excellent and you can sit so much lower in the car which is a nice plus. Really the seats in general are a plus and much better than the e9x's I just don't like the perforated rectangles in the seat bottom for some reason. All that said, the torque is really the only major highlight for me and as before, I found myself just wanting to get back in my car.

That's it for now. Bought a mic so I'm going to try to put together a little sound clip video of my exhaust set up over the weekend.

Got some exhaust clips last night. Unfortunately the mic I bought online didn't work at all - sound quality was terrible. I'm not sure if it was too loud, too close, or what but I'm not going to go through the trouble shooting over a $20 mic. Luckily the GoPro actually picked up the sound pretty damn well. Here is a short clip of a WOT run. I have a bunch more but it will probably take me some time to stitch them all together so I thought I would share this for now.
This is a custom rear section - essentially swapped OEM muffler with high quality resonators and aftermarket tips. I don't think I've seen any clips of this set up floating around. Definitely an unorthodox way to go about it but I absolutely love the raw and exotic note from it. Axle-forward is all OEM.
