good day sir!
Yeah, sell a proven E9X and buy a suspect at best F8X. Comes with free seller's regret and buyer's remorse.

I will respond just because you clearly are asking for it.
If you don't value a high revving V8 for all the glory it contains then you definitely did not belong in an E9x M3. Have fun riding your vacuum cleaner with a stellar 0-60 time.

Well you have all made this a pretty easy decision for me and I thank you for all your comments.....ok fine even Bimmer Rookie but he's still fired!! Think I will sell the DCT and buy a 6MT in about a year. Definitely have to replenish from buying the Aston, Trans Am, Range Rover and also building a house. The guy is coming to purchase my M3 this Friday from Michigan. And for some reason if he doesn't then I'll keep it.

Do I think the Aston is better than the M3? On many levels no, but I've had three M3's and it's now time to mix it up a little before going back. My ONLY concern is that I won't find one as meticulous as the one I own currently but I'll take that chance. All cars have their share of shit. People can say all day long the Aston will be a maintenance nightmare. Two things to that: 1) the car will probably only be driven 2500 miles per year so I'm really not that concerned 2) If it brakes I can afford it. That goes the same for the M3. That car isn't cheap to fix either and owning four cars is a bit overwhelming.

Both cars are great in their own right for different reasons. IMHO I do believe Aston Martin makes the most beautiful car in the world. Really, I've had so many sports cars I'm sort of immune and don't have to own the fastest one out there. Just something I enjoy driving which has been the M3 and now the Aston but for different reasons.

I will do a comparison once I get to know this car a bit better.

Make sure the new owner signs up and starts a thread. Let's keep this car in the M3post family.

I'd do it. A black on black DCT M3 is about as common as you can get and you can always find another one. Plus, most people will think it's just a old 3 series but there's no mistaking an Aston!

Thanks for the complement on the Aston but you may get a few backlashes on here comparing an M3 to a 3 series....

It's true. Had a guy with a 328i Park next to me. Identical space gray. And he says "cool we have the same car". I didn't have the heart to tell him...

It's a manual Vantage, what more is there to question?

Do it, it's an infinitely cooler car.

Similar thing happened to me. My brother in law is a big bmw guy. His wife a few years ago leased a 328 vert. He came to my house this past thanksgiving and I introduced him to my M. He first complemented me on the M rims and then lamented that they should have kept their 328 vert.

Then he walked to the back and noticed the M3 badge and the quad exhaust tips and nothing further was said other than “welcome to the BMW club” to which I thought to myself “I’m actually in the more exclusive M club.”

This is the same BIL that leased a X5 with all the M options including the paneling...only to have his cousin run out and lease an identical looking X5M.

You mean he missed the hood bulge, the vents in the hood, the flared fenders, the fender vents, the M mirrors, and the M-specific rocker panels, and only noticed it was an M3 from the quad exhausts?

All that extra stuff minus the exhaust can be added as an option. As I said he made his X5 look exactly like an X5M just with options.

I find that most people have no idea what an M3 is. All they can tell is it's a BMW. A Vette is a Vette, it's pretty iconic. But would they know it's a ZO6? Most wouldn't. I would think the same would hold true with a Mustang and a Camaro. Can the typical person pick out a GT3 in a crowd of Porsche's? Nah, they would only know that It was a Porsche. But it is pretty cool when someone does know what an M3 is and they ask a ton of questions.

No modern V8 will ever rev to 8,400 rpm let alone 7,500 rpm besides Ferrari. Sad reality.
