Exhaust sound louder when hot?

I'm running the ESS full exhaust with HFC in Phoenix. It seems quite a bit louder in the afternoon than morning, when hot. Anyone else experience this? The sound quality is the same. It doesn't sound like there's a leak. Any thoughts?

Sure, metal expands when it heated. Not sure if it gets louder but the tone is definitely different between a cold vs hot exhaust.

I would think the opposite would be true. If you run on a cool foggy day air is denser and seems like it echos around more.

+1 on different tone, unsure on loudness. I do tend to think it's a bit louder coming back through the pits after a track session than on the way out. (from Akrapovic perspective.)

Maybe the heat increases the pressure inside the mufflers and subsequently increases the volume. I'm no physicist!

My exhaust is generally louder when hot as well. Been that way with all the cars i've owned.
