I had a shipping label created for 2 weeks before mine started moving.

This is the same timeline as my exhaust. I just received an update that my exhaust was shipped Wednesday, which was two weeks after my label was initially created.

Well the thrill of receiving my exhaust was short lived as the package was delivered with the exhaust hangers sticking out of the box and it looks like my exhaust tips took an impact that was hard enough to cut through the styrofoam wrap on them.🤬

Before I go through the process of filing a claim and have to hold off on installing the exhaust, would anyone who has received theirs be able to confirm that the tips are completely smooth/round on the rolled edge? It’s hard to tell if the deformation/defect on mine is from the manufacturing process or from the impact since tolerances are always different on hand made components (I tried looking at the pictures posted on this thread for a comparison but with the shadows/lightning I couldn’t tell).

Damn, sorry to see. That looks like UPS gave two S**** about that box. However, the tips should be smooth.

This is exactly why my came damaged! I posted a pic in this thread a page back. The hangers rubbed through.

Contact Stromung. He replaced mine with a new unit.

Thank you both for the responses. I figured it was wishful thinking that the marks were just part of the manufacturing process seeing the quality of the exhaust.

e92ben-sorry you had to deal with the damage but it’s good to hear Stromung took care of the situation. Somehow my mufflers escaped relatively unscathed but the tips have small indents on them from hitting the end of the box. I reached out to Scott to get his thoughts-with shipping companies these days, I’m ultimately nervous that this damage might be minor compared to the next one sent out.

I think they are just to loosely packed. A bunch of packing peanuts should have been used. My tips were perfect on the damaged one. We’ll see on the new one.

Has everyone received their exhaust? The last I heard from Scott was on Feb-08.

I had my shipping label created over two weeks ago and was just picked up by UPS yesterday. You should be getting notification soon.

You could also just order this from Chris at understeer dot com which has it for sale at the max discount group buy price.

How could other vendors have this exhaust when it was manufactured as a limited run just for this group buy?

Perhaps I’ve said too much

All I’m saying is, you don’t have to get Scott Stromungs e9x exhaust through a groupbuy (unless you really want the PW tribute tag and different exhaust tips), but I doubt he’s complaining.

just received my exhaust yesterday and while the box was a little beat up from shipping across the country, the exhaust itself was fine. Can't wait to get it on the car!

I don't think this is the same as the regular Stromung E9X exhaust, I think someone asked about this in the thread but I don't remember if it was answered. You might be right though!

It has different tips and a PW tribute tag welded on. That’s how it’s different, otherwise: same.

Hey Visor325i, I see that you are in Montreal, is it possible to meet someday so I can hear the exhaust in person?

However, it’s not clear to me if Understeer has a Stromung version for the E90 M3. It only lists an E92 version. I sent an inquiry about this last week and haven’t gotten a response. I do know that the Paul Walker version will come with the appropriate length tips based on your model.

Same guy makes these. Just tell Chris at understeer that you need it for e90.
