Speaker is crackling/static (front driver side)

Just realized some sudden crackling and static on my front driver side speaker. This is the speaker located on the door. But it seems like the problem only happens with certain songs or audio frequencies. What could the problem be? Does it have something to do with a fuse?

I haven't really driven the car for a while. Maybe once a week and the car was just charged on a battery tender. it was giving me low battery warning and the car wanted me to visit a service center (most likely because of low charge on the batt).

Most likely just a blown speaker.. It's either your high frequency driver or the mid range driver.

Find a song that has the frequency where you can hear it. Replace the speaker that makes the crackle.

Weird problem is, I never blast the music. Do you know how much it cost for a speaker?

The hardest thing to do is troubleshoot that. I had a intermittent crackling on my e92 335. I found a bunch of test frequency tones and a frequency sweep and played that from my Android. It ended up being the tweeter by the side view mirror that was bad.

Can't say how much. I found it a week after I bought the car so it was replaced free. Only took them 30 min to replace tho. It's a speaker.. Can't be to expensive.

It depends on your sound system.. the mid-range speaker is like 50$ (HiFi) to 100$ (individual). For the tweeter it's gotta be like 35$ (HiFi) to 75$ (individual). HARMAN/KARDON is something in between.

I think in my case it's the mid range speaker that's "blown". Bought the car like that, so i don't know if the previous owner blasted it.
