Akrapovic exhaust X-PIPE Help/Advice
Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone here has the akrapovic evo system and have changed the x-pipe to something else. Reason being as many of you know that have the system is that its very quiet. I love the note the exhaust gives, i just want it louder . Any recommendations are appreciated

It's the rear section that's really making it quiet, not quite as much the Xpipe but you could ditch it for something totally catless and get a little more sound. You'd just need the adapters for the rear section.

I have a full GT4 set up and it just isn't that loud. I had a full evo before the GT4 X and it's about the same noise level. The rear section is just quiet compared to other louder options on the market no matter what X pipe you pair it with.

I'm not sure but I think they have to be that quiet. As far as I know the GT4 system was developed by akrapovic for BMW's GT4 program and probably needed to be quiet enough for sound regulations at certain tracks. At least that's what I've been told by people more knowledgeable than I am.

I have an EVO system and heard a GT4 at the track and thought it was considerably louder at start up and on track.
But I'm not looking for a race exhaust sound level. The GT4 sounded awesome to me. .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I think the GT4 set up is perfect but there are louder options if that's what someone is after. |

I would love to get my hand on one but those gt4's are super rare and if you find one , then someone wants a hefty price tag for it. So thats why im thinking just cutting out the cats and res.

Or cut a section out the connecting pipes on the Rear and install some dump valves to straight pipe the rear at wide open throttle 😃 I cut up an akra rear for a repair from a rear end accident. You could put it right here. Edit just looked up ti dump valves. Ticon sell them for $330 each. Pricey
