Also I again read error codes and there is only one error code "No connection to DVD changer", which I guess is normal, because I looped the connection.

But still the CIC gets all iDrive controls when in CarPlay mode. This is very annoying because depending on what I control in CarPlay, it could lead that I change the input source if the CIC to e.g. Aux-In and CarPlay stops.

Yeah, I'm still having this issue... I emailed support 3x and haven't gotten a single reply.

I wrote them via WhatsApp and described the problem. But they didn't came up with a solution, but instead offered me to send the unit back and get a refund.

Have you find any workaround for the issue to live with it somehow?

Maybe there is something incompatible with the car type , do you both have the F25 X3? (However, it should work as the website of Mr12volt states it should be compatible with your car)

Do other persons that have the most recent box installed on other car types have this issue as well?

I have my box ordered, and it will be delivered soon. However, I will soon move from the US back to Belgium (where the car is located) and hence I will only be able to check it in October....

Probably. Maybe the iDrive CAN commands are slightly different for the X3 F25 and so the Mr12Volt box is not able to filter them out in CarPlay mode.

At long last there is no real support and it seams like Mr12Volt is not really interested in spending time into this issue, so I ended up sending the unit back.

Hi,

So i have had my M3 for about 6 months now, and when i got the car it had this android 11 sytem but i soley used it for carplay, the sound was very average, it actually always sounded better when i conncted to aux directly from the phone, instead of this android system conncetd in the aux.

Im thinking of installing this mr12volt system since it claims it has better sound quality, only thing im worried about is this, some ppl have said when they press the M button system reverts back to origianl idrive, is this the case?

Also i have an 08 so it has the CCC system, wondering if any upgrades were made to this system from mr12volt since previous versions, or is only the CIC system which most people have.

Lastly is there a reputable shop in NYC/Long island that can install this.

CIC version has worked fine for me. No problems that haven’t been noted or resolved with firmware updates. Have no idea about CCC or cars other than M3, can’t speak for their experience

There is a CCC version and most (not all, but most) have had good experiences. The updated unit is available for both.

As far as shops, any reputable car audio shop can do it. It's really not too difficult, and most do it themselves in a few hours. hardest part is feeding wires without pinching the fiber optic line (very important). Coding the CD player is easy, just requires the right software.

Thanks for the reply guys, was just curious to see how much better the original system is compared to this android, so i picked up a CD from target, and what a diffrence it is, its almost like there is half the bass being left out on that android and the clarity is improved as well.

The 12Volt unit isn't full android.

CD quality is the same coming from these units as long as you are using the same source quality.

You are likely referring to android units that use AUX connections, those are known to have bad audio SQ.

I can really NOT recommend to buy anything from Mr12Volt.

After the CarPlay module was not compatible with my X3 F25 (see my video above and posts from other X3 F25 owners) I sent the unit back (as they told me via WhatsApp).
But they didn't send me back my money. I wrote them on WhatsApp but since I was asking for the refund, they just didn't answer anymore.
Now I had to report an incident on PayPal and luckily PayPal checked everything and send me back my money.
Funny thing is, on their website they still list the X3 F25 as compatible and I wrote them in their website chat and asked if a X3 F25 is compatible or if there are any known issues and they said NO.
Just another chinese company selling cheap products with bad support.
