1M KW V3 on E92 M3?

Question(s):

Does anyone have experience using the KW v3 for the 1M on an E92 M3?

I have seen posts from other forum members using the KW v3 for the E92 M3 on a 1M but cannot find any information about the opposite.

I know very little about suspension. That being said... A KW rep told me the mounting points are different (also the spring rates - not too concerned about that at the moment). How is it that the M3 KW v3 can be used on the 1M but they have different mounting points?

Side note: I understand that it may be a liability or just bad business for KW to condone the use of their suspension designed for the 1M on the M3 which is why I am seeking end user experience.

E82 part number - 35220095
E92 M3 part number - 35220067

Any feedback would be appreciated.

What's preventing you from placing the correct part with the correct implementation?

The mounting points should be the same as the M3 and 1M share the same suspension. I'd think the rears would work no problem, as they share the same lower control arm that the shock mounts to. As long as the front spindle is the same on the M3 and 1M then the fronts should work as well. Check on realoem to see if they share the same part #.

Thanks for the feedback. When you say "attempted" do you mean you did not mount them on the car?

They fit just fine. 1M's share all major suspension components with the M3.

It's likely that the spring rates and maybe even damper tuning is a bit different between the two PN's due to weight + wheelbase differences.

it was my own issue which made me remove it in the end, back then I didn't know the differences this coilover had between the edc and non-edc version although slight, the 1M one was used so i ended up just buying a brand new coilover due to OCD lol
but for the few days ive had the 1M coilover on, i never had any issues and the shop never encountered any installation issues as well
