honestly, infiniti's service >> BMW in my experience so far. plus dont have crazy sensors go off all the time... yah there's +/- everywhere, it's engineering.

G37 is not the old G35... unfortunately for them

If your all about the tech, the G37 is for you. I am now looking at coupes for around the spring time and my short list includes the 335i, G37, and Audi S5. I cover all of the price spectrums with those vehicles.

I have seen a couple of G37s lately, but they really don't impress me. and the interior feels cold to me.

That's just simply not true. The retail price on my G37 was $44475. The retail price of the equivalently (slightly less) equipped e92 335i is $54720.

That's not 2-3k, that's more than a 10 thousand dollar difference....

My G37 is leased. The rates (MF) on the G37 aren't very good yet - but they should improve within the next few months. I leased a G35 prior to the G37 and had a MF of .00004.

I looked at a 335i as well. And while the rates were a little better, I just liked the G37 more. I certainly respect the straight line performance and modability of the 335i, though.

Im highly considering the G37 over the 335i right now, the tech available in that car is obscene. Send me a PM and tell me a little about your car if you dont mind?

Yup. There are plus and minus. As for plus I like from new G37, you can use voice command to enter address, just say the street name, number, city and state. I think that pretty cool feature that my Bimmer doesn't have. Second plus, you don't have to wait to get one, dealers have many in their lot.

but the styling! ugh...

from afar you can't tell the difference between g35/37, and up close, you miss the g35!

the tech is not SOOO much better, and I am a tech guy. Bose studio on wheels is awful compared to the hype. The hard drive is nice, but I have an iPhone, so I will just plug it in to a 6FL and be on my merry way. The navigation is the only thing I can give as superior without question to Infiniti.

Only my opinion however... to each their own.

and a totally fair opinion! I had a G35 before the G37, at times I do miss the G35, but I really think my G37 looks nicer. Most people I talk to also like the G37 better. It helps that it's in black.

As for the hard drive, I used it the first week, but I have since switched to using my ipod almost exclusively. Agreed on the navigation. I love how it shows stretches of highway as red/yellow/green based on how the traffic is flowing. I'm aware that iDrive has real time traffic, but i'm not aware how it displays on the screen - can someone fill me in on that? Thanks!

i believe that your informations was incorrect. Next time, please do more research. The $48,650 (BMW) vs $45,025.00 (G37) = 3625 different.. Would you get BMW 335i or G37. G37 got more HP than 335i on the bhp. However, when we tested that pieace of crap is slow and heavy than 335i.. BMW have 50K /4 yrs FULL waranty vs Inifinti does not offer crap just some basic stuffs. BMW got free brake change, and oil change. and etc. brake change will cost Customer about 3000K ( free under warrent).. Can g37 dont offer that. 335i does not have to worry about anything until 4 yr or 50K. G37 need to play for oil change. probably looking at 200.. outside ? u got to be killing me.. damn mechanic will do hack job on that piece of shit g37 BMW have better resell value than g37. do i need to say more now?

yeah i was going to say... the only way that figure is even remotely correct is if you are incl. tax into the price of the BMW and not into the price of the Inshititi... i can say that, i've owned quite a few. the only good car infiniti has ever made are the early 90's Q45's.

price tag with semi full option on a 335i price tag is 48650 w/o tax in california. When we apply tax to the car. it come out about 53515.

On the g37, the price tag with full option on a Infiniti g37 is 45025.00 without tax in california. when we apply tax to the car. it come out about 49527.5.

This calculation is base on 10 % tax that included , dmv registration, paper fees. and etc.

Eventhough the bmw cost about 3987 different in price. bmw will always hold their resale value vs infiniti and faster. BMW is a symbol of status. Infiniti is a symbol of cheap as customer.

I'm sorry, but I find it quite humorous that you're telling me to do more research and get correct information. I actually cross shopped these cars and got quotes for both. You were certainly able to compare the cost of a absolutely fully loaded G37 to a 335i with about half the options of the G37. So yes, in that case, the difference is $3625.

I could very easily option a G37 with 50% of the 335i's options and the price would be $15k!! So guess what, you came up with this comparison, so lets run with it....

So let's start with that $48650 that you computed the "equivalent" 335i to be, and make adjustments to the price so it actually is equivalently optioned to the fully loaded G37 you quoted.
$48650
+ 1000 for 19" wheels - the G37 sport comes with them, so why wouldn't you add them for the 335i?
+ 1400 for active steer - again, you optioned this out on the G37, why not on the 335i?
+ 350 park distance control - the G37 has a rear view camera, so you could at least add sensors to the 335i. But personally, I'd rather have a camera than a "beeper"
+ 750 cold weather package - the G37 has heated seats and folding rear seats. With this package, the 335i additionally has headlight washers. I guess that's a +1 for the bimmer.
+ 2400 active cruise control. You added tech package for the G37 (active cruise, adaptive headlights, crash pretensioners), but won't do it for the 335i?
+ 595 - 350 add Sirius radio which is more comparable to XM radio, subtract HD local radio
+ 400 iPod adapter (again, included in G37....)

That's a grand total of $55195 for the 335i vs. $45025 for the G37. So even for your example, that's a difference of OVER 10 thousand dollars... In that price, the G37 has the following additional options: more power adjustments (binnacle, seats), 20 gb hard drive (navigation driven off hard drive), adaptive headlights, crash pretensioners, a $550 spoiler, and $360 in accessories.

But the 335i also comes with headlight washers! Oh yeah, and the free maintenance - but even some of the members here question how much that's really worth. Either way, you grossly exaggerated how much routine maintenace costs at the Infiniti dealer. I pay under $40 for my oil changes there.

You may have edited out half of the rude insults you made in your post. But it still contains a fair amount of unnecessary comments. In the future, if you would like to make a point, I suggest that you back it up with correct reasoning and data - instead of the drivel you posted.

I just showed above that the price gap is over $10,000 for the G37 you listed. I'll give you that the 335i is faster. But to say that Infiniti is the symbol of a cheap ass customer is naive.

I totally agree. I said this based on personal experience. I had a 03 G35 sedan before my IS. It had so many small problems because it was a first year model. Through out the five years I owned that car, I had more than ten problems fixed by the dealer, and none of those fixes costed me a cent. Every time I took the car in at round 10:00 am and left them my cell phone number, and around 2:00 or 3:00pm they called me and told me the problem fixed, no bullshit and no hassel, on top of that, no other stuff that they asked me to pay to fix. Oil and filter changes only cost me $32.99, only a little more than a Honda Accord. Now, my sister and my father both have BMW(04 325i sedan for my sister and 07 530i for my father). This is what they faced. After one whole year my sister owned her car, she thought it was time to have the first oil change, so she took her car to the dealer where she bought the car from, and you know what the service department guy told her? "Your car has only 4000 miles on it and too early to have oil change". WTF? But it has been one year for gods sake. She brought her car to another BMW dealer and that dealer did the service for her. When my father bought his 530i, the sales person told him the first oil change at 15000 miles. I want to ask how many "15000 miles" could you drive throughout the first 4 years free maintanence period? I think this free maintanence is a hoax. Because BMW don't charge you any money, so they think it is okay to extend the period between oil changes? Other brands recommend me to do oil change every three to five thousands miles, not fifteen thousands. Now my father's car is only 3000 miles and his car vibrates when idling, so we took his car in two weeks ago. We thought it was a quick check so we only drove one car there, and the guy told us we might leave the car there for the whole day, and rented us a car. We thought okay, why not? Let us try another BMW as a loaner, great. Guess what? He rented us a Dodge Caliber, 2008 model. Hahahahaha, it was just funny. I had loaner vehicles twice from Infiniti, one 04 FX35 and one 06 G35 sedan. So I got Infiniti vehicles from a Infiniti dealer. But I got an entry level Dodge Caliber from a BMW dealer. Okay we took the Dodge home and nobody called me until I was so impatient and called the service guy back at around 5:00pm because we really really don't want to leave the car at the dealer overnight. And the guy told me the car was ready(HOW COME NOBODY CALLED THEN?)Fine, I was so happy that I could turn the Dodge back. The guy told us they found the idling normal and as long as the rpm doesn't drop under 500 it was normal and blah blah blah. The vibration was still there so NOTHING got fixed. The BMW dealer was so grand, much nicer than the Infiniti dealer I went to, but the service? Infiniti dealer, at least the one I went to , wins hands down, period. I don't know how good of a service you got from your BMW dealer, but that definitely was not a nice service in my opinion. Thanks for reading. d

Thanks for reading. d
As a former Infiniti driver (G35 and FX35) and Lexus driver (RX300's and SC300), I agree with many of your points. I rarely had problems with my Infiniti's and when I did, the issues were mainly minor and I got the car back the same day (and always drove around another G35 as a loaner). In addition, the high-tech features of the Infiniti such as the Navi system are superior to BMW. Lexus has the BEST service...period. The BMW "free 4-year maintenance program" is ok, but I agree that the service intervals (for oil/filter change) are too long. In addition, BMWs obviously have many more issues as they're a bit finicky (especially their electrical/diagnostic systems), but they really do drive much better (performance, handling, road feel, etc.) than the aforementioned brand cars.

That sums it up for me; as you can see by what I now currently drive, although the service and reliability of the Japanese cars (Infiniti and Lexus) are better, it is a trade off I'm willing to take by driving BMW and MB now.
