Lowering Spring install time??
Gents,
My lowering springs have arrived today and I would like to install them as soon as possible. i'm a fairly competent mechanic, I've printed a few DIY guides and studied them and have all the tools including spring compressors and TIS torque values all set to go. How long should I expect this job to take? thanks in advance -Mark |

The front is easy. Disconnect the brake wear sensors and abs sensors from the plugs at the box undo the three top nuts swing the strut out and compress it with it still in the spindle. Be sure to retighten your thrust arms with the suspension loaded since you are changing the height in which they are torque loaded to. The back just undo the end links and remove the 21mm going through the hub and pry down and pop the spring out.

To answer my own question. It took me 3 hours to remove and install lowering springs.

I think 3 hours is great for a first time on a particular car. You could do it in less if you did it again. I am pretty sure I took longer than you but I am slow.

Took me an hour just on this alone. Overall about 3 hours with a friend and we were being lazy.

First time, 2-3 hours. Could do it in less after having done it once.. really not all that difficult with the right tools. I did an Eibach pro kit, and put spacers on at the same time, then took it to get aligned.
I used the 21mm schwaben strut nut socket which came in handy. Looks great. |

About three hours. Taking my sweet time. But I also have a QuickJack and a DeWalt impact wrench. Those two tools make these type of jobs so much easier.
