Irvine BMW rant

Took my car in today to have my front brakes replaced and I specified "no wash," and of course, I pick up the car washed poorly with swirl marks and water marks all over the car. This is literally the FIFTH time I have specified no wash and they give it back to me washed poorly. I'm so angry

That sucks. Pretty sad when they can't follow a simple direction. Wonder how good the service is?

When I go to my service center, my SA always brings out a sign that says "do not wash" & "park in basement" placards for my car and put it on the dashboard.

I made my own "DO NOT WASH" sign for my dash. I personally put it on my dash when I drop it off. I feel for you.

I'd give them a 6/10 for the actual service. I've had multiple issues with them

Sorry to hear about your bad service there. I had my issues with Crevier recently also. I dont actually think it was Crevier but moreso the SA who was an @sshat. I will tell you one thing..everytime I take it to Crevier and I ask for no wash, they never wash it. If you decide to go there make sure you dont get Paul Cox as your SA. ANyone but him.

Weird as they always have asked me if I wanted it washed or not. Always a choice. They haven't when I have said no and when I wanted it done they have. No swirl marks or anything.

Sorry to hear they did that.

I am wondering why you still go to that dealership if this is the 5th time you have had this problem with them?!

I've only frequented their parts department, and left less than pleased. They do have a new parts dept manager (or maybe he's a supervisor), so hopefully he'll improve the place. He was accommodating last time I went there. There are no good BMW dealers left in the OC. STBMW is the only one I deal with if I need to go to the dealer.

put a sticky note on your steering wheel that says NO WASH, also tell your advisor.

Its usually not your advisor who puts the vehicle in the wash, its the tech after he/she is done with the service. Its second nature for them to just put the car in wash. However, your advisor could have also forgotten to tell the tech...

Dealer wash = swirls and scratches art factory

My wife took her X3 for service yesterday and I made her a big
"DO NOT WASH" sign to make sure those idies didnt touch it.

No wash done and we were happy... Sorry OP..it sucks... fortunately
those swirl marks are removable with the help of good products and
an orbital.

I've had good luck with Monrovia when I serviced my M, no loose oil caps, no wash if you demand that...

Same here...Fairfax does a decent job, but considering my baby comes out only on the weekends I prefer to do it myself.

I've used them quite a bit and it has worked out quite well. They have been very generous taking care of a major VANOS repair and doing some things for me out of warranty. They have never washed my car.
