New Member Checking In

Hi all - Long time BMW owner just joined here as I am in the purchase process for an e92 m3 - trading in my e60 m5. currently a member on most of the other bmw forums but can't believe I never really knew about this place - but glad i found it considering my upcoming purchase.

A little about myself - This will be my 8th BMW along with some p-cars, rovers, and good old american muscle along the way. Loved them all - guess Im a car nut.

Currently live in upstate NY - have lived in Asia and Europe and loved every second of it. Have six kids (yes for real) adopted from all over the world. Been to the performance driving school and the M school - highly recommend both for everyone if you can swing it - what an awesome experience.

I'm probably older than most of you but who cares - we share a passion for the most amaing vehicles in the world - what else matters?

Looking forward to learning and contributing! And yes I already know....

Also included a pic from the BMW performance driving school day 1 - so much fun to try out all the different bmw's on the track...

OP: it sounds like we are very similar (8 BMW's, 4 Kids, M School and lived in Upstate NY, Buffalo). You got me on the P cars and living in Asia and Europe but I may be older than you!

Well my P-car experience was mainly in older 911's so nothing exotic - but my favorite was my 1993 968 - so stunning and sexy but simply the most uncomfortable thing ever to ride around in and I had to sell it! My friend has a new 911 and it is quite the machine, but what takes them all for apperances is my bosses DB9 - omg that thing is so gorgeous. But to be honest - nothing drives like a bmw!

Congrats and welcome! Woow 6 kids, thats crazy. Dude you gonna love the M3. I would do the same trade rather than going to the new M5. Beautiful M5 though.
