A family member recently purchased a RR Sport. He had a coolant error come up already and they had to replace the sensor, twice.

They're fantastic cars Juan but be prepared for trips to the dealer and pay the extra for the extended warranty. It's going to be worth every penny. The whole car is electronically controlled.

Simon, you're right about the interior but it is much like BMW's where the small trim pieces where the window buttons are will start peeling after maybe 2 years of ownership.

Ok, now I have a little more time to elaborate.

I know 3 people who have owned Land Rovers (one Discovery, 2 Range Rovers), all of them have had tons of problems.

I will only tell one of the stories, most recent, because this stuff could go on forever.

One of my wife’s friends bought a used Range Rover, couple years old, but out of factory warranty, against our warnings. The first week they had it the idiot lights started lighting up. They took it back to the dealer and the dealer “fixed” some airbag sensor, and some air suspension thing. Long story short, these things came back along with other problems and they have spent about $2,700 in their first 2 months of ownership.

Other problems include; A/C compressors, windshields (very expensive with defrost filaments), window regulators……..

Land Rovers are garbage, Land Rover was ranked second to last in reliability study only above KIA.

Air suspension may give some problems, from what I've heard. Mechanically they're pretty solid. Electronically not so much man. Then again you're right most luxos do but not to this magnitude. I love the car though, very capable.

So, they are Garbage just because they are unreliable?

I know of many people with LR2, LR3, Range Rover HSE, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Sport S/C... even when bought new they got sick of them because they were always in the shop with problems no one could ever fix right. New, used... same thing. Always something going wrong.

What good is technology when it can't function properly and consistently?

Hell I know a guy who woke up one morning to a smoking dash board looking outside his window, his engine caught fire and his car was totaled.

Are they garbage because they are unreliable? Or is stupidity defined by buying a product that costs a person more than any of it's technology is worth just to keep up with it?

Yes it's freakin' garbage!
