It's a shame that they took so long to finally make this car.. 2 years ago the design was fresh and badass looking in the Transformers movie but now it already looks dated to me.. :-/

It's my understanding that those were promo/demo cars.

Actual customer production started yesterday.

This car went from concept to production in just over 3 years. It's a very typical cycle time.

I would hate to rain on your guys parade but I work for GM. They started production but dealers won't be getting them for awhile. They were suppose to be introduced to Chevy dealers as 2009 models but as you can tell, they keep getting pushed back. As of right now, one of the vendors that they were working with for certain products went bankrupt so they had to find another outsource for interior pieces. A GM rep. showed up today with one of these though.

If you really want your mind blown, check out how fast the Cobalt SS rounds the schleife. 8:22, not bad for a crappy little FWD four banger.

Gm builds a hell of alot of fast cars, lets go through the list, Zr1 obviously a beast, z06 very beastly, c6 vette still beast, CTS-V the beast in sheeps clothing, the Cobalt SS the fast sheep is sheeps clothing, and now the Camaro SS is rocking the bimmers around the ring... god forbid the ZR1 comes out with a 556 hp lsa. If the Caddy does it in 7:59.3 and weighs as much as your average panzer tank, imagine what that little thing could lap in...

Too fast for a camaro, id say faster then your f430s and up bighting at the heels of its more athletic brother, the z06...

the new camaros are nothing to scoff at

Yeah, the Camaro is being built at Oshawa which also builds the Impala. GM is not going to close a plant they just sunk billions into to remodel it.
The bosses said they would close the plant and move production to USA if the union didnt cut wages by $20/hour. GM is a mess.

Great Pic. Still look so like the concept car.

About the 0-60, MT and Automobile Mag always seem to better manufacturer claims. Same applies for MPG, always a bit conservative.
