Interesting. I'm surprised they decided to add the chrome window trim to the E93, I wonder what BMW was thinking when they did that...

Yes chrome grills also. Philippe called me out on it one day in front of all of my peers and embarrassed me lol. Changing out the grills would be cheap enough but I haven't ever looked into the window gutters, I would think that's not a cheap mod.

He knew the M3 in and out. It made it a much more pleasant experience learning about the car as opposed to only being sold the car.
And all this time I thought it was just convertibles that had the chrome window trim.

Would be cool if it was like a black chrome trim instead. Have you considered getting it wrapped black or something?

Like Gary mentioned above, you can have it all wrapped. My SG E93 has all the chrome window wrapped in matte black (thank you previous owner!), I believe I remember reading it cost around $200-300 for the whole job

My charger is under the hood, so I can route the charger onto the windshield so I can see it.

There is no negative terminal under the hood. There's a metal stud on the left side attached to the frame for ground where you connect the black clamp.

Me too -- even got the low battery fault warning to confirm it'd been a while.

She's on the charger as we speak.

No problem with my battery, but mine has been in the garage which does help.

Mine was in the garage too! I don't think my 5 mile commute is enough to get the battery charged...

If the weather doesn't look like crap tomorrow morning, I'll drive it again.

5 miles, that's it? That's not even long enough to get the oil warmed up. Haha.

You're not too far from me, so you might also be getting a lot of rain tomorrow. :

Surprisingly, I can run the oil check during the drive (a bit of idling in traffic warms things up).

Yeah, just saw that but my wife is going to take the X5 on a costco and grocery store run. Guess it'll get wet and salty tomorrow...

Finished valve cover change and some misc. items, fished all my dropped tools and bolts out of the belly pan, fired it up (it still works! amazing), and shut it off. As I was finishing it up, the City dropped a bunch of salt on my street for no good reason. We need a good hard rain.

Trip over to ACM for a little sound upgrade. I was a big fan of the stock exhaust note which was very smooth, but the second I pulled away the difference with the MPE was noticeable. Much sharper and more aggressive sounding, with some very interesting resonance and sounds between 3-4k RPM. Interested to see how it changes as it breaks in.

I'll be driving with my back seats down for a while I think, makes the exhaust significantly louder!
