Alibaba/aliexpress magnetic paddle shifter

Looks like alibaba/aliexpress started selling these magnetic paddle shifters.

Anyone bought these yet? Curious on how these stand up against those other companies.

I've got them. Had the madtrace on my E93, but bought these for my new E92. Can't tell any difference except if anything the alibabas seem to have a cowl around the body of the shifter that provides a neatg edge around the steering wheel.

The madtrace before just seemed to fit in the recess in the steering wheel and get fairly close the exposed edges. The cowling makes these look more factory.

Click is the same, hole separation on the paddles is 15mm which is identical.

You'd be mad not to buy these at the price.

Not difficult. Flathead to the sides of the steering wheel, which takes a bit of feeling around to find the retaining springs for the airbag. remove airbag, 2 torx screws, 2 connectors, and it's done.

do it with the car off completely otherwise you'll have an airbag code that needs a code clearer.

So disconnecting the battery is not required? Heard so many stories about fried ECU’s on reconnection of the battery……

AliExpress paddles arrived, looks/feels good. However won’t be installed until the car is out of hibernation.
