I installed this kit in November 2014, with 32,400km, and my car is over 75,500km. Still going strong.

Installed mine last week. Here’s my before and after dunk, with Harrop software. If any one has there’s also, it would be interested to compare, especially if you did a custom tune (?)

Are those getting custom tunes with the harrop supercharger able to tune out the rich bogging when you get into the throttle pedal at low to mid rpms? Logs show it goes horribly rich and you can feel a flat spot. Hate this about the standard harrop tune.

I don’t know about that, but will look into with the tuner. Wanted to see how the Harrop tune did first. It seems fine (“great”) to me, but my first experience with a supercharger. Will post update with any pertinent info.

interesting. my car is otherwise perfect so not sure if there is something else amiss, but have heard others mention the flat spot at 2500-3300 when getting into the throttle. i hope this can be tuned out, seems to go very rich for some reason. Higher rpms feels fine.

That's good to know. I think I find it more noticeable (more severe) than you do and it spoils my enjoyment of the car. I'm in Australia and bought my car with the Harrop kit already on it. The previous owner bought the kit new off an authorised Harrop dealer in Australia. Are you going to BPM directly on this issue? I could contact them but I suspect they will tell me to go via the entity that sold the kit. Could you provide any further details on the software update so I can go back to the dealer that sold the kit and make my request for an update? (assuming that one is in the works). Looking forward to stage 2...... Thanks in advance.

However, it could be the bypass is still moving and the system takes some time to generate its boost potential, and has to be mapped to account for the expected boost at that TPS/RPM, and will therefore run rich until the valve closed and the expected boost is realised. My problem with that theory is that the rich conditions seems to last way too long and continues after the bypass has reached its final position so maybe the base alpha-n map is just way to rich at that point? Would be much better if we could change out the stock MAP sensor in the idle strip to read boost and (if the stock software can) add pressure based fuel/timing modifiers to the alpha-n set up.....but I have no idea what the stock ECU is capable of. Ultimately I would love a syvecs for the multiple traction set up maps, and all the other cool functions it has, plus the the ability for proper MAP based fuel / timing modifiers on top of alpha-n, but a lot of cash......

Same situation here. Hoping by the time I get in a properly spec'd m3 and save up the funds for a supercharger stage 2 will be available

To be honest I do not think so. Dynojet is reading way higher and give misleading figures. Do you agree with me on this? |
