More Detroit Auto Show pictures
I sat in the M3 sedan as we were not allowed to sit in the coupe on that day. The steering felt really great, the quality of leather or whatever used for the steering rim was very smooth and had very good grip. The seats were very well designed and the leather was far better than that used in the regular 3 series. I really liked the looks of the car, especially the coupe. The fenders, power dome, bumpers, CF roof are fabulous. The only thing I didnt like was the color. It shows the curves very well but I feel it doesn't make the car look very sporty.
Here are a few pics. If i find more in my friends' cameras, I will post them too.

I dont know if it is heavy or not, coz I just sat in it and held the steering. hehe. What I meant was the grip and the feel of the steering rim was great. I dont think this car has tint.

I agree, these photos do not reveal the notorious orange peel we've been seeing...I hope it's not just the way the photo was shot.

Thats weird.
The side vent photos have showed some terrible peel but that shows none. Wonder what mine will be like? EDIT: Looking through the SSII thread it seems to depend on the camera angle. |

It'll have some orange peel, I'm sure. Mine has some, if you look at the right (or wrong) angle. It isn't easy to see, but it is there.

I was thinking the same thing, but who knows what BMW did to the car before the show? My guess is it was wet sanded, and they'll deal with paint durability latter :dunno:

The front quarter panels are plastic while the rest of it is steel. Different paint processes, one electrostatic and baked the other not

If you look at the SSII thread you can see lots of peel on the door and boot (trunk for the Americans ) too.

There was a lot of orange peel on the car in real life.

Painting those orange reflectors will be the first mod once I get my hands on my upcoming M3.
