Anyone use "BMW Search" aka google search?
They won't let me try it, I have to sign up for the convenience service for a year to activate it - seems like they should give everyone a 30 day trial of all services.
In any case, if it is useful, $200 bucks not that much. Anyone try it? |

I paid the $200 for the Convenience Package. It works fine but the search will only search certain categories like restaurants, BMW dealers, etc. Once you find what you want, it plugs into the nav system and off you go. You can also talk to a live person and they will do the search for you if you get lazy. They then send the directions to the car. It would be really nice to have in a new big city you are visiting where every place is unknown. It would be nice to be able to search anything on Google...but you can't.
I thought I'd try it out for a year, and I may or may not renew the subscription. Ask me again in 10 months. |

If it helps, I got the convenience plan right before Christmas, thought i might as well try it since its around $200/year. So far i really like it, they do everything for you, input addresses, find all sorts of information, the only thing missing is that they don't do transactions, other than that its been very helpful. I have the 08 M3 so I won't be able to comment on the Google search but i hope u're enjoying the new I-Drive
