New or used (if used, must be perfect, aside from looking like it's been used).

I know it's a long shot. If you've got one and want to sell it, LMK.

Are these eventually supposed to come back for again from mfactory? I’m looking too.

That's the rumor. I guess there was some legal issue with production, licensing, or distribution. I just bought my M3 a couple weeks ago and and just a few days ago developed the driveshaft clunk, so I'm in the market now and after researching the options (OEM, VAC CF, MFactory CF) I'm a little bummed. If I knew MFactory was coming back around with their driveshaft in the next couple of months I'd wait.

Guys what is the difference between the MFactory and the VAC driveshaft? I have the VAC driveshaft installed and interested to know if there is any benefits as I also have the Mfactory one on the side.

If your VAC one doesn't vibrate and isn't noisy, then they are the same.

I believe there was a quality control issue with the VAC driveshafts. It may not have affected all of them, but the consensus is that the MFactory carbon driveshafts had a more consistent quality and there was less vibration and noise.

Would you like to sell that MFactory one?!

You may actually be lucky enough to have a VAC DS that uses the YCW flanges, which makes it identical to an MFactory CF DS. See post #723.

It’s probably more than a long shot, to find a perfectly used one for sale. I do hope one is out there for you.

I am awaiting patiently as MFactory is almost ready to start production up again, I understand they now produce their own CF shafts and no longer depend on the former distributor, which halted shaft production due to legal dispute. The last news I heard, MFactory had already produced their first in house alpha prototypes and are now in durability testing phase. Should not be too much longer before we hear more news.

That's awesome news. I may wait it out. I've got a little driveshaft clunk starting up, likely from the u-joints connecting the two-piece. Nothing catastrophic yet- I've got some time.

Thank you for the great info! appreciate it - Will have to take it off and compare the quality to see if they are the same. I am not facing any issues other than the diff whine.

Does your VAC one also use the stock rubber giubo? The MFactory unit does.

I had zero diff whine with my MFactory CF DS. Zero NVH. In fact, NVH reduced because the infamous M clunk went away.

Hey Redd! Yes it does retain the stock guibo - I will have to recheck the diff oil now

Thanks for the info again!

Those are nice. I really wish MFactory would start producing again. I'm going to just buy the Turner Motorsports driveshaft (OEM retrofitted with serviceable u-joints) the clanking when beginning to accelerate has gotten really loud and the drivetrain is beginning to feel a bit sloppy. I can't really wait to stumble across an MFactory one as much as the idea of spending $1000 on something that is a a replacement and not an improvement hurts.
