Concealed weapon storage in E92?

Hello all. Hope everyone is safe and well.

Let's try not to turn this into a gun debate. I have owned guns for a long time and carry from time to time. I started carrying a lot more. I was wondering if anyone has seen a good integrated solution for locking my firearm in the E92?

I've search the internet up and down and have seen and heard of many different solutions. Most people don't even lock it up (which i find unacceptable) and just put it in the glove box or center console. Other people buy a small lockable gun safe and put it under the seat.

I'm looking for something nicer and integrated. I'm afraid it sounds like it might have to be custom. Has anyone seen anything like this for E92 car?

Leaving your firearm in the car is not good practice. If you have to leave it in the car, place it in trunk when you exit.

If you can't figure out where to store a gun in your car then perhaps you shouldn't own a gun in the first place.

Um Lol you guys are kidding right? Just wondering if anyone has seen a safe solution or something like it integrated into the E92 interior.

I'm not asking how or why I should store my firearm in the car. Thanks anyway.

You can try something like the Vaultek SL20 with a slider. to Place it under a seat.

I was thinking of that too. Not the most elegant solution but it's that or the LifePod for me.

I was hoping someone has seen something like the safe below but made for E92.

Maybe ask on the general E92 side (non M) since there's more people on that side.

I met a guy at the range who had made a custom enclosure within his glove box. I wish I had taken a photo. It was essentially just reinforcement, a stronger lock, and he had placed a cable to the firewall so you couldn't just take the whole thing. It was a little overboard but he carried a high end custom Kimber. Tbh, it'd be easier just stealing the whole car 😂
I carry IWB and have a magnetic holder under the dash for when I'm driving.

Kinda agree with you here, it's why I shy away from glove box or center console mounting, pretty easy to remove those out of the car, but key thing is knowing something is concealed in there.

Yeah it sounds like something like this would be totally custom. Just thought I'd give it a shot and see if anyone has tried or seen a solution like this. Thanks!

Can't offer any specific solutions but I seem to remember seeing mounting options in either the standard 3 series forum or the z4 forum. A few guys had mounts that fit under the steering column and looked pretty good if my memory serves me right. I can't remember if they locked or not though.

Why a place where you can lock a gun? If you want to be able to shoot someone, don’t you need it accessible? Fortunately, I don’t live in dangerous areas, but if I did need a gun in my car, I’d probably put it under the seat or between the right side lower seat bolster and trans tunnel or left side lower seat and door threshold where I could get to it with one hand.

You lock the gun in the vehicle because there are certain places where you cannot carry a firearm inside. Federal buildings are one example. It has nothing to do with accessibility.

What he said...Also, for me my job site does not allow weapons. When I arrive to work I would like to lock it up. Then when I get off and go somewhere I re-arm myself. But yeah I usually do drive with it holstered. I only ask about a locking solution for places that weapons are prohibited.

While I was searching, I found a forum that said BMW at one point made a submachine gun mount (I think MP5) for the ski bag area.

Ever since i saw the Aston Martin in Casino Royale with the slide out gun holder from the glove box, Ive always wanted one.
Maybe one day ill make it happen.

Let me know if you find anything vehicle specific. The center console is most likely not doable, so the glove box or even the fold out pocket in the door would be plausible.
Also depends on the size of the pistol you are wanting to hold (as well as state law).

I have the Locker Down gun safe in my truck, and that thing is badass. Truck has been broken into before, they didnt even try to get into it. Damn near bullet proof. AND they are made in Texas.

Being that this is for storage when you cannot carry - how about a lock box in the trunk? With it in the trunk you can still be discrete about the exchange if that is a concern. Also can be used for other items if needed. A custom enclosure in the glove box or center console would be awesome - but quite an animal to tackle.

Trunk is best and safest idea. I wouldn't want the responsibility of a firearm within reach while daily driving. Too many morons out there, why be tempted to send them to their maker.

You could go with something a little more bespoke?

Yeah I saw a solution called truck vault I think. They make a smaller one for a sedan size car. But man it takes up a lot of space. But yeah good points for sure.

Might could use a pistol safe - one meant for a night stand or something similar. All different sizes & shapes - probably could find one that takes up the least amount of room. Wouldn't think it would be too hard to secure one of those in the trunk. Could also throw some carpet or something on it to match the trunk if you're not a big fan of the look.
