Thumbs down Anyone else hate Daylight Saving Time?

Is it really necessary that we change the clocks back and forth twice a year?

This weekend my evil twin will come out for 4 months. I hate that cranky bitch. I wake up the birds, so it's dark when I wake up all year long. I'm already driving to work in the dark for the past two months. Now I'll be driving home in the dark also. I hate winter more because of the lack of sunlight than the cold. When I worked in NYC and had to deal with public transportation and the elements, it sucked. But driving with heated seats and heated steering wheel make the weather bearable. Until of course it snows and no one seems to know how to drive in the snow, but that's a separate conversation.

But seriously, nevermind the sun deprivation, I can't change the clock in my brain so there is no extra hour of sleep. Instead of my eyes opening at 3:30 am, they will open at 2:30 am.

This came up on my news feed. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/t...162216195.html

Yes. It was a so-so idea to begin with, made completely useless by Shrub when he extended the length of it. Just leave the clocks alone.

I hate it as well. Always screws with my body clock. It's unnecessary to this point. I wish a president, any president, would get rid of it. But, then of course, the farmers union or some shit like that would come out and protest it.

Hate it with a passion. And I think it does more harm than good.

I'm glad we don't have it here.

You do realize that we're going into the "REAL" standard time now, don't you? You'd have this all year long (except in states that are trying to keep Daylight Saving Time all year long)

Yes I do. I obviously would be one in favor of DST all year long.

The time change drives me crazy. I would much prefer permanently staying on DST.

I don't like it either but hate the spring forward more than fall back. If we get rid of anything, we'd get rid of daylight savings, not the real time. All we are doing this weekend is going back to the real time.

Curious why you would prefer standard time. Do you hate spring forward because you "lose" an hour of sleep that one day? I would much prefer a later sunset.

I know Arizona doesn't change. I think IN, or maybe MI is the other?

Yes.

Daylight savings is what we are adjusting to, not standard time, so if we end the practice, we would just stop adjusting in the spring. Moving to daylight savings is effectively changing time zones, which seems odd in relation to the rest of the world. But I guess I would rather do that than keep changing back and forth. Ultimately messing with the clocks does not change how many hours of daylight there are during the day.

I think it's AZ and HI that don't observe DST.

I dated a chick years ago who claimed she had "seasonal depression" & her sex drive went to nil in winter. That was her excuse. I never bought it, at least in her case, b/c she was a cheating whore & also she came running back when Spring hit b/c she was horny again & knew where the good dick is. Made her buy me bday gifts, since it was near my bday, in order for her to get more railings from me. Those were the days!

Now this made me laugh. I don't get "depressed" but I hate the sun deprivation. My cheerful disposition returns in March. The day we spring ahead is my favorite day of the year, better than Christmas! Spring fever is real. I lose my mind
