I think you can get the track record. I have faith in you.

You can pick up an easy second if they don't have those orange sausage curbs in place. You can put your outer wheel on the inside white line to flatten out a couple of turns.

Especially the second to last turn (T20?). Dan cheats and goes over that curb. One day he's gonna rip his diff cover off and I will laugh my arse off!

for laughs I made a GTR race render template. I think it's pretty accurate.
(secretly: it could be for DCT drivers too)

That's cool. I made a video of a track day in my gtr. Pretty sure your M3 was in the line of cars being passed. By the way we prefer Xbox.

You were scootin around there - awesome! Not very nice of Mr. Costas to come back the next year and do that though, seems pretty rude. Would definitely like to see some videos if you have time to post them. Has that corvette been your main competition?

Been thinking of going to the January event to get the HDPE progression towards TT started - weather should could be fun then though.
A few other people were beating up on me before Paul. Paul and the guys from Gspeed built the perfect TT3 car. It's detuned to 280 hp but it's 280 from 4000-7500 rpm. So his wt to hp is always 10 whereas I am at about 17 at 4000 rpm, so he is able to out accelerate me in a lot of places. Plus he's a great driver. However he only ran TT3 at CoTA and usually drives his SU car thankfully.

That's pretty clever detuning like that - having full power through their operating range is nuts. Plus a great driver could see how that would be tough to compete against. I've seen their yellow corvette running around cresson & cota a couple of times - sounds rowdy as hell but didn't look like they ever really got on it. Think they might have had another running around cota in october too.

While everyone was at buttonwillow, I was detailing my car. Needed a good spa day.

Greots garage engine bay cleaner, wheel Woolies, and a paintbrush lookin thing. Finish off with deionized water and meguiars hyper dressing.
The hyper dressing is my new favorite thing. Makes the trim look brand new... not greasy. Same with tires.

"Live in an area with freezing winters? Concerned about cold-induced tire flat spots causing permanent structural deformation? Have we got a solution for you!"

Why the hell would anyone spend so much on "flat spot stoppers" when this is far more effective? First time being able to drive the car in two months and I forgot how much the engine loves cold air.

Brand new NT01, never driven yet on are scary in rain. There's a video on youtube from a Cayman GT4 owner with me in front that shows it in semi-dry conditions, but it doesn't give the full experience of how scary it was. Sudden oversteer everywhere and understeer all the time.

Couldn't get them broken in until the last session, and then a BRZ ran out of fuel and cut the session in half due to a tow. Will have to hit up Thunderhill East in January again, give myself a proper re-introduction to my car after the big upgrades.

In the final session, I got to follow a friend who also has an E92 M3 similarly modded but minus 300 lb in weight reduction, he has aftermarket seats, and a little more power due to cat deletes. Then rode with him as passenger. Fun times! Learned a bunch of car control in the rain, all of us kept on losing our shit.

"Virtual best" according to HLT was 2:01, I don't really buy it. Will need to see if I can get near that next month!

For those of you that do track days with gloves, what would one look for in selecting driving gloves?

If you are doing 20 minute sessions, any general Nomex driving glove will suffice.

Anything longer than 20 minutes and I'd get external seams to avoid chaffing your hands. I have a pair of Pyrotech gloves that are great. My wheel is also suede, and if you don't wear gloves it'll ruin the suede pretty quick.
