Idk

Probably not, since the assistant chief engineer said all the R&D is done. It's just a matter of market feedback. He said something a long the line if people in the US wants a MT to let the dealers know.

Well if they don’t recognize that 50% of the target market for this car NEEDS a manual then obviously they just don’t want to spend the $$$.

Very sad...

Yeah. Toyota’s own market research suggests that their target market for the Supra would have a substantial percentage in manual take rates, yet theyre sitting here like, “we’re waiting to see if there’s demand for it.”

It was from day one, suppose to target the Cayman, so more about dynamics than outright power. More 2000GT than the mk4 Supra

I'm pro MT, and hoping that one will but offered with the A90. With that said...

Sorry, but both of y'all are wrong. During the market research they found out that only about 20% of potential buyers would be interested in a manual. There is a big differences between internet fan boys and actual buyers.

For these wanting to save the MT.

A very enthusiastic 'thank you' for supplying context to folks with blinders on.

In this day and age, no car 'needs' a manual unless the plan is to either drift it regularly or get it out of (snow)drifts regularly.

The price seems reasonable to me. Base Supra in 1996 was $38,000. Adjusted for inflation to 2018, $61,0000. Turbo Supra was $48,000 in 1996, thats $77,000 in 2018!

Oh I forgot to update. Not official numbers, and some have hinted that the guy that made that post is wrong.

But even if its true, $52k for a base I6 Supra is only like $2k more vs the 4 banger Z4.

20% would be huge and ignoring it would be comically foolish. I think that would put it in the top ten if not top five of current manual take rates.

If the C7 is really going away and the C8 is DSG only, this would be an epic miss for Toyota.

1. The needs of many out weight the needs of the few, but seriously that's not for me to decide. Also if y'all are so concerned about a MT than goes on those sites and let you voices be heard.

2. Toyota never said it wasn't going to offer a MT, unlike BMW which already said no a MT in the US Z4.

Again, nothing official. But if took the pricing of the 2008 Z4M coupe at $52,000 and apply inflation that would come out to $60,872.
