As long as you like it right? My car, it would get painted, too much weave to call it an accent imho. Parts are already modified, they look different from stock, etc.
m3gasm, your car doesn't grind my gears, you like your carbon out and proud, enjoy it.

I would personally paint it but leave the lip portion carbon. Not a fan of the fade look on the lip and think painted fits better on a non black car.

I think you should paint it. The sleeper aspect of our cars is the best part

To my knowledge, fiber glass parts are usually cheaper than carbon fiber parts. I would personally go fiber glass if I was going to paint it completely.
Yes, fiberglass is cheaper but not as strong as CF.

A completely unpainted CF hood or trunk looks tacky and unfinished, sorry.

Paint it. The slight exposed lip is very cool, though. You want an accent, not a "panel".

To each his own. An unpainted CF boot will look out of place unless the car also has a CF roof and a CF bonnet, and the rest of the car is a color that looks good next to CF.

You're right. Bmw should've painted the carbon roof like they do with the i8 cuz it's tacky and unfinished.
Since the roof is considered a panel.

What's your opinion on these carbon trunks. There were several flaws found. Do all trunks have flaws or should I be able to just use it as is. The shop is asking for 2 hours to fix before painting.

I've never seen a composite trunk (or hood) that fit properly. The worst issues are usually around the hinge areas, trunk latch, and license plate lighting. Even the expensive parts need some tweaking. Some people are OK with a 90% fit (or don't know the difference), but to be 100% they can end up taking hours to get right.
