BMW Software update

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before (but I did search).

I would like to update the software in my 2012 e92 M3 because I am having issues with my Bluetooth Audio. I am trying to use the BMW Software update site: https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html but when I put in my VIN, I get the error "An error has occurred. Please try again later."

Has anyone had this before ? Is this website only for the "F" series cars ? Note I have a Canadian car, not sure if there is another website for that.

You'll need to bring in the car to the dealership or find an indy shop to help you do a full update on the CIC unit. Takes a few hours even with original BMW equipment/tools.

I just did both my M3 and X5 this way last month. Now I have perfect bluetooth streaming and phone calls.

Try using a different browser.

Only took 3 minutes to update.

Thanks all. I was able to download the 1008 bin file. I just needed to bypass the Company's URL filter which must have been blocking the download.

I haven't noticed any benefits.

I tried many times to update to 1008, but no luck. Car just won't accept it. However, I did manage to get 1006 to load.

Bluetooth audio still has 2-3 seconds of lag.
