E92 M3 remote start issues

I am aware that people have installed remote starters in these cars but I am unable to get mine to work properly. I have the bm1 from idatastart and it starts the car then immediately turns off. I get 3 flashes of the corner markers and that’s it.

If I hold the brake and start the car it acts the exact same way (starts then turns off). This leads me (and idatastart support) to believe that the brake switch is the cause of the issues. You can’t turn off the brake monitoring (theft concerns).

Is anyone aware of this issue that knows a way around it?
