Florida certainly has its drawbacks, but come tax season, it suddenly seems like a much better place to live.

Guess I do my taxes correctly because I only owed $28 this year.

In the, regrettably, Liberal state of Connecticut, my annual car taxes alone are $4k!

I'm sure when I get to finally do my taxes in Quicken, more pain will lie ahead.

At least the bonus is decent this year 😀

Lived in Fairfield CT my whole life up until 2 years ago. I know exactly what you mean. I was astonished at how cheap the cost of living is here in FL in comparison.

Got hammered this year. I didn't fully understand implicitly how the "State and local taxes (income and property) capped at $10k" affects your federal taxable income.

For high(er) earners in expensive areas with state income tax, this new tax law really hits hard. Essentially, you have to claim '0' on both W4s (assuming married) AND put extra money aside each month in order to avoid a tax bill moving forward. This is a massive difference than my previous '4' deductions.... making our monthly income drop about $800.

So yeah, big fat negative refund here. People who have 800/900/million dollar plus homes are going to get royally screwed as their property taxes, alone, will max the cap.

I'm in Bridgeport, all in all we pull good money and can afford the expensive car habit and then some big taxes are ridiculous. Now the new state budget proposal has tolls.
The idiots can't realize that you can't tax your way out of a bad spending habit.

Florida is cheap, I was in Daytona for the 500 race, but not my cup of tea.

Also in a high property tax and state income tax area, so no refund coming my way after that lovely "tax cut", LOL. Can't recall ever getting a refund, though, TBH. I usually owe at least some. This year it's going to be especially painful.

I miss the days of tax returns and doing my own taxes, haha.

Now, it's hiring people and finding things to write off.

I work for myself so I escrow all my tax money and only pay what I need to. So I never have a "refund", just a wizard who knows how to work magic with business taxes.

Just yesterday I ordered Ohlins R/T, GC camber plates, 19" TS5 wheels so I can run wider tires, a set of 275/295 PS4S tires, rogue short shifter, aluminum pedals, and a brand new set of OE aluminum interior trim.

Then I checked the forecast here in Wisconsin and saw we're expecting like another foot of snow over the next 5 days FML

I got a really good deal from summit racing on the afe magnum force stage 2 intake system pn# 51-82952-c my oem cover has worn out screw holes. Only 4 of them actually hold. It was cheaper than an oem one from bmw.

Got a fat tax bill this year because of the tax changes. It is the first time I've ever owed taxes. Really sucks with the deductions being capped.
