As a tech, I unplug dash cams when left in customer cars. I appreciate my privacy. I also dont care if you like it or not.

I've even gone as far as have the customer unplug or remove it.

Which is the right thing to do, if someone has a problem with it don’t take your car to a dealer. Customers are funny, try being a technician on flat rate and doing an oil change on an M car and waiting 20 minutes for the oil to reach near operating temp to get a reading off it it which is why some people hold the revs at 2k rpm for a while to speed the process up. I had a customer complain about this once before.

A common thread on this board is everyone is a master mechnic after googling and watching a few you tube videos.
