E90 6MT checking in at 138k. Got it last year with 124k. I worked on cars and airplanes for most of my career, switched to finance and wanted something to work on while I sit at a desk. Needless to say I got what I asked for.

The guy I bought it from drove it on the weekends and I daily it so all the gremlins came out: driveshaft, TAs, one rebuilt, one replaced, battery, starter, alternator, tires, 30hr leather restoration on seats, new steering wheel, M5 shift knob (highly recommend), motor mounts, tranny mounts, Guibo, all drivetrain fluids flushed.

On deck: replacing cracked fuel filter housing tomorrow, just bought B&G springs, and currently researching a suspension refresh and exhaust cutouts.

Even with the above this car is an absolute joy and only left me stranded when the alternator went, which is partly my fault because I saw the warning signs a couple days in advance and did nothing.

How did you know you had both a guibo and driveshaft replacement issue?

Center support bearing was squeaking and had a driveline vibration. Replaced the Guibo because I was in there anyways. Replaced the entire driveshaft because I didn't feel like pressing bearings and I figured it couldn't hurt.

The Guibo didn't look worn at all, but I'm sure the integrity of the rubber degraded. Saw the same with the tranny mounts, looked fine but there was a very noticeable difference with new ones.

2011 jetblack E92 DCT 190,000 miles. It's only been to 4 track events. Oil every 5,000 coolant & brake fluid end of every winter. It still rips hard as hell. I can't say that I feel a loss in the diff but I'm not a track rat regretfully. No issues really and I DD it. Here is a brief list of replacements and any failures.

2 failures ever.
Alternator
Bank 2 TA

RB' done twice.
-1st time around 46,000 (proactively)
-2nd time 150,000 (road deformity hit oil pan).
*1st set of WPC bearings looked great when they gave them to me after doing them the 2nd time.

Trans fluid twice.
-1st time 110,000 Trans pan cracked by chunk of asphalt I couldn't avoid. I felt it molesting the underside of my car as I passed over it.New pan, pickup, both filters and all new fluid.
-2nd time was done with 2nd RB job 150,000. New pan and fluid as that same road deformity incident above also hit the trans pan I had just previously replaced.

Diff fluid has been done at 50,000/100,000/150,000

Front bumper because Vegas back to LA+Coyote at night=New bumper.

I will never let this car go! Pearl is paid off and she still fuckin hustles! I still look forward to driving it every day!

How bout this one? It was a sad day when the road attacked me. Remember how they had to shoot a missile in that little hole in the deathstar in StarWars? Yeah the hole in the aluminum skid plat.....direct hit on the oil level sensor & one of the drain plugs.

I don't have any recent pics, car is at the shop now for an overhaul. But here is a pic from last year.

07/29/2018

Bought the car back in '13, it had like 89k miles. I just drive around alot.

Replaced clutch around 130k
Replaced alternator around 160k
Replaced actuators around 160k
Replaced battery at 100k and 180k and 230k

I haven't done the rod bearings (i know lol), I haven't track, I do occasional spirited driving.

Wow incredible mileage on stock bearings. That engine owes you nothing. Hope mine lasts that long.

lol! you can take the title, car will be down for awhile. Meanwhile, I'll rack up the miles on the M4CS :P

The E92 M3 is a real solid car. 3 of my friends end up getting one cause of me, and now I cant wait until it's done with the rebuild/track build.

Mind providing what the rebuild entails as far as the engine, block, etc? curious for the day when mine comes for a refresh how much that might cost, take, etc.
