I usually have to refuel at about 160-170 miles as well. I'm 90% city/suburban driving. Pretty abysmal mpg, but I didn't buy it for that.

When I bought min, I drove from Jacksonville FL to DC and got about 350 miles on a tank or around 21.5mpg doing about 70-80mph. That was my best. I have noticed though when I switched from 10w-60 to 0w40, my mpg increased by about 1mpg.

I did the same trip, this time paying attention to keeping the revs below 3k. Google also took me from a different time but interestingly the distance came almost identical. The weather was a factor here. For 50 miles, I drove on a stormy rain condition on highway covered with tons of water. Definitely impacted my mpg. You can see from the fuel gauge that I have at least 1 more gallon of fuel left in the tank compared to my previous attempt. It was a dull drive so I probably won't attempt again.
So I can see how you can push 350-360 miles in one tank on a boring drive around 65-70mph.

I'm mad if I make it 120 miles. Under 100 and I'm winning.

I've gotten a max of 325 miles on a tank with less than 10 until bingo. It was like a scene out of Seinfeld where Kramer runs the car almost completely dry.

We have 100 RON fuel from Shell V-Power, so I get 13~15km/L on highway if I cruise with little to no throttle.

Passenger&fuel weight is also important in achieving best fuel economy IMO.

My M54 ,E39 got 38mpg average on a 9 hour trip. The car weighted 2900lbs on a scale.

Trying to maintain a certain speed kills your gas mileage.

Not sure what the max on a single tank was, however on my recent drive from San Jose to just north of Seattle I averaged 24mpg and 70mph over the 900 mile journey.

On my road trip which was majority highway, I got around 500KM in one tank. I think I could have gotten way better than that.

Did someone post 400 miles!!! OMG!! I’m barely getting 200 miles on a full tank, I must be spending too much time above 8,000 RPM, and I drive a 6 speed manual with the Auto start and stop function 😑

400 plus out of a single tank, doable, would have to be going downhill.

I drive on highway, empty the full tank in lets say 300-330 miles, once i fill up, my range shows 420ish miles. Somehow Germans got the math on fuel estimation wrong...

It has a small fuel tank. I drove with a full tank nearly 150 miles. I thought that the fuel tank is bigger. But I saw all the details on https://cararac.com/fuel_tank_size/. It's a very useful platform for car lovers. A lot of new details I discovered using it. Anyway, it's not a big problem for me that my M3 has a small range. I have two cars and this one I take only on weekends just to speed a little bit. Also, I heard about some guys that were swapping the fuel tanks with a bigger capacity. I don't know how true this fact can be, but it's a solution.

300 miles is impressive, but I would be able to match it I think (longest distance I travelled before fueling up was 438 kms = 272miles).

400 miles is mental. It's like being a junkie and sitting in front of the noodle for days after days. Screw that consumption, out of the window with the low average - how can you not rev it? Open up those TBs on the S65 and let is screeeaaam

Even when I tried, lowest average was around 12.1 Liter / 100kms - i.e. 19.6MPG US.

But then again, I have a stretch of Autobahn nearby in each direction - so, no comparison to interstates & highways in North America hehe

My weekly daily commutes are always city driving and usually spirited at that. No highway commute miles at all.

In the freezing cold winter months, I am around 150 miles at 1/4 of a tank left with all the city driving I do and the extended time to warm up. I can usually milk 50 miles out of a quarter tank if I somewhat baby it.

During the warmer/summer months, 180-220 is typical. I can usually push a 1/4 tank to around 60-65 miles. Again, all city driving.

When I do take it on the highway, I never really pay attention since it isn't an every day thing.
