Post your M Settings
I'm curious what people use for their settings. I realize DCT owners have additional settings, so please post those too. Post whatever you have. Below are my own settings and why I chose them after much experimentation.
1. POWER = Normal - I find this mode to provide the most linear throttle map, which equates to the smoothest driving - slow or fast. I also found using Sport/Sport+ to make the car harder to balance. 2. EDC = Normal - Since Sport is not an active suspension, I'm left with Comfort and Normal. I don't want a fixed shock rate as in Sport, and Comfort is a bit too plush. Normal is perfect. 3. Servotronic = Normal - This one took me a while to decide on. At first I liked the more weighted feel of Sport, but after some time, I started to prefer the Normal setting. Both change the level of assistance as speed increases/decreases, but I just found that in the Sport setting steering felt sort of "artificial" off-center for lack of a better adjective. Normal feels more even all around, and I prefer that consistency over the more weighted Sport that's not as even all around. 4. DSC = MDM - DSC on is too limiting on this car, and MDM is just perfect for me. This was a no-brainer for me personally. So my key settings are only different from my M button in that the M button has MDM on. But I push the M button as soon as I start the car. |

I totally agree with you regarding servotronic. I LOVE it in normal, feels artificially heavy in sport and the doesn't improve road feel.

Wow! The settings I posted are for ALL driving BTW. I'm not into the concept of messing and learning two throttle maps, two different cars, etc. One car, one set of settings - driving to the market with my son in the back, or cutting it loose. I will turn DSC off if I want to mess around - but MDM on as default all the time. I tried all the settings, but didn't gain speed or anything.

Right. In Sport - it's like off-center it starts to get heavy fast and in a fake way. I wish Normal had more road feel, but it's decent. Sport doesn't have more feel either to me.

I usually leave EDC on Normal unless the road is very smooth, then I'll switch to Sport. But most of the time I prefer Normal because with Sport the car gets unsettled easily by bumps. |

I like having my M setting set to the max. The only reason why I ever push the M button is to get kind of an adrenaline rush. And to be honest with you, I find myself pushing it more often than not!!

Not for me - I'm in M Mode all the time...I just automatically hit the button on start up and I feel the M is much more fun to drive in M Mode with Spot Plus and Sport settings. I can't hardly stand how gradual the "pedal" acceleration is in the non-Sport Plus mode. In theory, the M3 isn't my daily driver, (that's what my 535 is for) but I usually give it the nod

No - I don't get this whole M mode/different car personalities. I understand the settings and have made my choices as I explained. It's one car with one set of settings for me for any and all conditions. The only difference is when I turn DSC off manually. Otherwise my settings are all in the M button which is on all the time. Dry, rain, & snow.
