IND painted euro bumper and Autocouture shout out...success

i can't find the earlier thread I started....I finally got a space grey pre-painted euro bumper from IND put on my car to address my OCD issues as a result of the two license plate screw holes.... Autocouture put it on today. Perfect match. Could not possibly be happier. 2 thumbs up to both IND and Autocouture. PS- if you take your car into Autocouture have them do a basic exterior detail. I have zero doubt my car looks better today than it did when it rolled off the showroom floor back in 2013.

Nice my bumper is peppered with rock chips and I noticed one of the mounting points is cracked all the way through. May I ask what you were charged ship to your door? My car is SG also!

i had Autocouture order it for me... I want to say somewhere between $1500-$1700? i'm so happy I didn't need to have any blending done of the hood and front quarters. it really is factory perfect.

An oem euro bumper is $700 so basically you paid $1000 for paint? With an oe replica it would have been under $1000 total. Just FYI for the other people considering this

I wonder how well they can match IB? From my experience perfect matches are nearly impossible unless several tints are tried.

OP I'd say you got lucky

no doubt that there are cheaper options out there that could look every bit as good. unfortunately i have a severe case of irrational OCD that prevents anything non-OEM from going on my car and I didn't want any part of the hood or front quarters sprayed to blend.

Why would any existing parts needed to be blended? They would have matched the bumper to the rest of your car not visa versa. Based on what you did they would have used the paint code like IND did and got it on the first try.

I personally wouldn't consider putting a non OEM bumper on my car. The smallest fitment issue would drive me nuts.

The IND pre painted OEM euro bumper is definitely in my future. My car is mineral white, while that is a pretty hard color to match, my car has always been indoors and been treated exceptionally well, so I think the paint match should be fine.

There are such things as paint fade and weathering. An OEM paint code doesn't gaurantee an exact match

a multitude of reasons.... you are putting the same paint on a bumper to match a car that is almost 10 years old. i guess I am lucky because my car was always garaged and the paint is still mint, like new, with no fading. but if you have a car that was sitting out in the sun for 10 years, even if IND used the same exact factory paint on the new bumper I doubt it would match the rest of the car perfectly.
