Sweet! Yes, same thing for me & TT. I have enough points left to upgrade from 100 TW AR-1 to 40 TW AR-1, and keep the same 295/30/18 sizing. Then my build is maxed out in its current class. If I go any further like a proper big wing and proper front splitter, as well as stripping the car, I'll be in another class up. I can still swap my battery and passenger seat to save some weight though!

It also helps that RR is cheaper...

My basic understanding of the RR is that it's faster than an R888R or NT01, but slower than a Hoosier (hence the lower price). NASA puts it in the same category as 100TW+ tires which has a modifier of 0.6 for TT. That should give you some indication of how it performs.

I don't see why the RR would be an issue for a "heavy" car. If you can get a big enough tire and manage the heat, it should be okay...?
I used the AR-1's on my previous track car, a 135i that weighed 3400lbs - so not light. I'm currently using RR's on my E92 track car. I have no direct comparison using both on the same car though. Overall I prefer the RR's. The AR1's to me felt like a very fast street tire, the RR's feel more like a typical R-compound.
For wet running with substantial standing water though, I'd take the Nankangs. I thought they performed very well in the wet. RR's are good in the wet up until the point of standing water - no tread so they hydroplane much easier.

I found the RR's to be a bit quicker then the NT01's with a similar feel - they seem to like a bit less slip angle compared to the Nittos. If you've ran NT01's before you know they are their quickest when worn down to when there is only two circumferential grooves. The RR's are essentially this their entire life, and hold up and wear just as well as the NT01's. They are slower than equivalent 40TW tires like Hoosiers and R1's - but last MUCH longer and do not heat cycle out.

Haha love it! I didn't realize the cord was that long. Is yours the standard 330 MM wheel? I've heard of a few folks getting 350 MM

No Track Days, working on the trailer

Not at the track these days so worked through this project. Cleaned the plywood floors and did some other prep work, then laid down 2 layers of epoxy floor over the past three days.

Projects this weekend have included installing shorter BW endlinks since the KW ones ended up being too long after installing the Hotchkis front bar last week, replacing a bad O2 sensor, and finally installing the seats I bought way back in December haha
Looking forward to seeing how everything is at the track next weekend!

Those look great. How do the OEM 3-points work with them? Comfy for around town usage?

Granted I haven’t been driving around as much lately due to COVID, but all things considered they’re pretty comfortable!
Main thing I need to figure out soon is 3-pt belt though as I can’t get the receptacle through the seat (so it’s on the outside) and the belt rubs my neck a bit so will probably be getting some sort of padding for it.
The real test will be the 4hr drive to Hallett this week.

Could you use the Schroth Quick Fit? I know they have a street legal version with the red push-button release.

I have read mixed reviews about it, and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about using them or not with the fixed back seat. Maybe someone in here can chime in. I have a set of both driver/passenger quick-fit pro's.
