white stuff in MPE exhaust tip

Anybody seen this before? Started in the last month or so. Keep seeing some white buildup in one and only one of the tips of my M performance exhaust.

It comes and goes. I never do anything to remove it. Curious if anybody had any idea what it is.

Pardon the dirt. Waiting for the rain to stop to give her a bath. Yay Seattle.

I should also mention the substance appears to be hard and you can kinda scrape it off. I don't think its grease.

The exhaust was put on last summer, and it makes me thing that it'ts something from inside the exhaust since it only appears on that one tip.

Have you been running fuel additives or race gas? I think that's what is referred to as "ash" from fuel combustion..

Nothing but pump gas. No additives.

Again it only happens on one tip. (the left passenger side tip). If this had anything to do with the engine at all, I would expect to see it on the left and right passenger side tip at a minimum.

Based on that, and I haven't had the exhaust for a full year yet, it feels like something related to the exhaust, but I can't imagine what it would be.

Never seen that before on my MPE. Maybe try baking soda and a soft brush then see if it comes back? I know you said it comes and goes, but maybe a deep clean will help.

Looks similar, but again I'm only seeing it on one tip.

That implies it is not coming from the engine, as if it was, I should be seeing it on two tips.

Now I'm thinking this is from when it was welded together during assembly and the inside of the pipe wasn't back purged properly and what you've got there is the resulted from the burnt blistered inconel being washed down stream with the condensation from start up.
