I was browsing for alternatives the other day, the F80 guys can get the KW DDC which is based on the V3 and reviews very positively from the posts I have read. Looks like it's also available for the e9x platform but I haven't see any reviews anywhere. The f8x version is compatible with the existing EDC button, based on the product description the e9x version isn't compatible with the existing button which has maybe put people off (that and the price). Having multiple options through an App does sound interesting though...

Edit - heres the only DDC review I could find for the e9x platform

The B16 has also shot up in price to $3200 USD without any ETA, lol.

do you remember how much it was originally?

It's very interesting to have an option -albeit vaporware- that has spring rates like the KW CS but allows us to retain EDC

The price for these when I purchased in 2016 was $3,027 USD.

I would totally buy it if it was EDC compatible. But running all those wires, then having to use the app every time is not what I want the feature for. I love being able to press the M button on the steering wheel and in a second the car is ready to go, and then again back to street mode. Still a cool option if Bilstein was to give up and just discontinue this item instead of leaving us with blue balls

They were approx. $2500-2700 from ECS in 2017 from what I recall.

+1.

As for the blue balls - I've had email notifications for stock updates on this pixiedust shit from ECS Tuning since 2016. Two years and counting...

As per my latest inquiry to a UK distributor:

"Hi

We are still expecting stock to arrive for these shocks.
We have enquired with BILSTEIN at the factory and they are overdue at the moment.
The aftermarket supply has been postponed until mid May for some reason that has not been disclosed to us.
Our listings go live automatically according to delivery schedules.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Please enquire with us mid May (13th-17th of May) as it should be available then.
BILSTEIN has advised that they will not be available anywhere in the world until then.
Apologies for any inconvenience."

I won't hold my breath though lol

And besides all that, I don't want a KW suspension either... greatly prefer the Bilsteins

I can't believe this is still going on. It's a shame because it is such a great product. Outside of the supply issues I'd still highly recommend the Bilstein's.

Lmao. Pushed to June 5 now.

I wonder how many members have conceived and had children in the amount of time this pixie dust BS product has been supposedly "backordered."

I think the only way for this part to get made is to place as many orders as possible so that Bilstein actually has the incentive to produce it if they see the demand. I've had my order placed and paid in FULL since December 2017, because I want them to know I'm serious and I don't want to cancel. If every distributor in the US placed at least 1 order, maybe Bilstein will say "Hey guys we have 150 orders, let's actually make it and get some money"... because if there are only like 25 E92 orders placed nationwide, and 400 for an F80, guess what's going to get made?

I have been waiting for these for a while now. Rumor has it Bilstein secured a huge contract to satisfy some oem that they don't wanna mess up! Doubt they will devote any resources to the e90 platform. Am just going to purchase oem, can't wait anymore.

Yea, I gave up and ended up with MCS 2WNR. I realized EDC is not as important as I thought it was to me.

Hard to say. I don't daily drive and live in downtown SF. Driving around SF city is a shit show in any car. Surprisingly comfortable for 5/24 clicks, FCAB monoballs, and 550/800 springs.

I haven't had a chance to really test them out but the car I just bought has a set. If they aren't "motorsporty" enough for me they may be for sale.

What I have experienced so far though they ride fantastic

I scored a super clean set of these second hand, but they have been sitting for 2 months in my parts stash....hoping to get them on in the spring and test them out.
