Inexpensive amp upgrade for base (non-Logic7) audio?

2008 E90 M3. Recently installed a Kenwood DMX7706S head unit; amp and speakers are all original. Base audio, i.e. non-MOST amp.

The front driver's side channel is cutting out at low volumes so I'm guessing the amp is dying. I don't want to spend real money or mess with the factory wiring until I'm ready to upgrade the whole system, and I still want to run all the factory speakers, so I was going to buy a used OE amp and drop it in.

Anyone aware of other options at like $400 or less, new or used?
