BPM Sport - Awesome experience with CIC retrofit and tune

I have a 2008 E92 with the six speed and it was in bad need of a nav upgrade. I e-mailed Mike and he called me maybe 15 minutes later. We chatted and he explained the upgrade options to me. I went with CIC and a Combox, as well as a performance tune. I told him I needed it soon as I was taking a road trip. He got me the whole package before 9:00 a.m. the next morning, and I'm in Austin, Texas.

The install took roughly three hours. My mechanical abilities are about a 1 on a 1 to 10 scale. I'm guessing that I could do it again in under 2 hours now. The instructions are good, although I did call Mike several times with dumb questions. He patiently answered them all and I never felt like he was annoyed. Top-notch service.

Once the gear was installed, he remoted in and enabled audio. Everything worked perfectly. Nav works, stereo works, etc. And I cannot believe how much more usable my iPhone is now. Bluetooth streaming works like a champ on the native music app and Spotify as well as Youtube. I own a 2011 E90 and the systems are indistinguishable now.

The performance tune really woke up the car. Way too easy to spin the tires now, and third-gear scratch is easy.

2 days after doing the upgrade, I drove the car on a 1,200 mile road trip. Everything worked flawlessly. No bugs or drivability issues. It was a joy, other than getting 2 speeding tickets. Can't blame Mike for that. Lol.

I was leery of spending that kind of money on a kit from a vendor across the country, but my fears were unnecessary. I got concierge-level service from Mike and would not hesitate to buy from him again. In fact, I'm soon going to do an Akra exhaust and level 2 tune from him.

If anyone is worried that (a) there will be bugs; (b) the install is too hard; or (c) that you can trust BPM Sport, don't be. If a complete mechanical noob like me can get the kit installed, anyone can. Mike's a top-notch guy. In fact, I've lurked here for years but finally decided to join specifically to review this experience simply because I was so satisfied with the process.

Now I guess I can start posting elsewhere about all the other fun M3 stuff.
